CHAPTER 3 PETS, SYMBOLS OF VISIONARYSHIP ON EARTH We greet you one and all. We see a like-mindedness, an illumination among you that is of a special vibration and quality. We see in the hearts of many of you a singular interest and that is in understanding the nature of those animals that have come onto the earth plane to serve you, to honor you, to provide for you so much love, so much unconditional caring that they have the honor of being called pets. But they are more than that. And that is what we have come to speak to you about, the attitude of the pet to you, rather than your attitude to the pet. Pets come in with the singular purpose of displaying spirituality for you in its highest form. That is, they live in the moment, they provide unconditional love, they honor themselves and you at all times. The only time an animal or pet will dishonor you is when you show them such a display that you have earned such an aspect called dishonor. Pets are truly symbols of the visionary for they see light, frequency, vibration, and that is how they evaluate you... by your vibrations and by your aura. And they will make their own interpretation. It is not necessarily a standard interpretation. It is interpretation based on what they see. Pets live connected to other souls rather than in a disconnected state as so many human entities do. They are literally lights of Spirit on earth and that is how they should be viewed by you. They are illuminated to the 47
Diane K. Chapin fullest of their capability, which is truly what spirituality is about... to be illuminated to the fullest of their capability... of your capability. In other words, they honor Spirit at all times. Pets display for you the attitude of reverence that human nature has forgotten. They visualize and are very often able to bring about their visualizations. In other words, many animals who are dissatisfied with their home life will leave and will seemingly find a better home. This is no accident. The animal has intent and purpose on being better nurtured, on being better loved, on being better cared for, and so it is for this reason that they are visualizers and visionaries. They are able to bring about sets of circumstances in their lives that are for their upliftment and betterment. This they do naturally because they are attuned to Spirit at all times. The lesson for you is to get in touch with your spirit guides, your animal guides, for that is what they are, guides in kinship of Spirit. They walk with you, they live with you, they are literally in harmony with you... those animals who come into your life for a lengthy period of time are literally vibrationally attuned to you. They come in on a wave of upliftment and grace into your very home to bring you an aspect of love and contentment that you may be lacking in other areas of your life. This is why these beings come into your life. In many cultures, animals in the wilds are seeming spirit guides. This has to do with vibration. It has to do with the fact that animals in the wild and pets, again, are of the vibrational attunement of spirituality and are literally here to guide you through your troubles and your tragedies. Animals in the wild are very much in tune with their 48
Life Through Self Empowerment psychic abilities, they are very much able to psychically transmit spiritual information on a very high vibration and with such intent that it is received. However, sometimes pets in the home, until we open the avenue of visualization or telepathy, suppress that, as all entities do, because their efforts are unmet and unrewarded. If something is not accepted it is suppressed. The animals in the wild have not had this need and that is why they are seen as spirit guides. All are spirit guides, all are. It is a matter of opening the airwaves to that animal, the expression of willingness to receive that animal's impartation and again, to have enough honor and respect for them to know that they can teach you spiritual messages. This is one thing that is missing on the earth plane, the knowledge that animals can teach spiritual messages. How do they live as spiritual entities? How did they capture that glimpse of spirituality that so many human souls pay money to discover? They do not question God. This is the most single lesson that you can learn from these entities, they do not question God. They live as though God flows through them and, indeed, that is true. They are an aspect of divinity and of God, as you are. But, they have not forgotten this... they have not forgotten that they are spiritual beings living through an incarnation in a body that was provided for them for their convenience. These beings understand all these attributes of grace, of spirituality and of essence. The visionary on the human plane understands essence, that is, that which is primary to all, that Spirit is the embodiment of every aspect that is seen on the human plane, including that which seems solid. Spirit flows 49
Diane K. Chapin through every aspect of your plane of action as atoms, as molecules, as accumulated matter that is formed for your convenience, for your use and for your learning. But animals live from essence, from that part of themselves which is their soul and this is why they are so tender in nature. Their souls literally are on their arm sleeve, if you will. The soul of an animal is much more apparent on a day-today basis than many humans will allow, for many humans are tied up in ego, personality and selfishness. Animals set aside selfishness and ego to serve you, to give you unconditional love and to show you the way. They have come to be a living demonstration of visualization, of lack of ego, of the fundamental nature of the Universe, as in living in the moment and living as the essence of divinity. They do this by their service to you with unconditional love. This is how you should be serving one another: with unconditional love, with unquestioned reverence for the divinity of one another. This is what they see and this is what their message is to you: that they will love you unconditionally until their deaths, but that, so too, should you love one another unconditionally and see the Spirit of divinity that is behind the eyes of all souls, even those who are the worst tormentors. For those souls who are tormentors are very often struggling and grappling with their own spirituality and are turning away from it to cruelty and abuse. But they, too, have the opportunity to live as Masters in this incarnation and in others. The pet sees through ego, personality and selfishness to that which is the essence of all beings. 50
Life Through Self Empowerment They also are very much occupied with the vibrational attunement from one to the other all over the globe. When they are at rest, they are receiving vibrational attunement and psychic benefit from other animals throughout the globe... they are in communication through their soul being... they are, literally, in a state of blessedness as they commune God's grace from one to the other. This nourishes them, refreshes them and allows them to continue to give their so-called masters unconditional love even under the most difficult circumstances. This is not necessarily an innate quality, it is an attribute of pets, but it is something that is sustained through telepathy with other animals throughout the globe. This is how this is done for them. Let us also assure you that pets living in the same household, dogs and cats, most definitely communicate with each other. They are on different vibrational frequencies, but there is an interchange of the telepathic, psychic and spiritual energy. So, in many ways, this is very beneficial for everyone in the home, for there is an upliftment of the vibration, an interchange of frequencies that is very harmonious, and an opportunity for you to experience unconditional love from different aspects, from different points of view. So it is a wonderful opportunity and a special one. Some of you may also be able to communicate with your pets in ways you never dreamed possible and may even find they have been making efforts to communicate with you for some time. If you wish to do this, you need to take a little time each day, even if its only five minutes at a time, to give yourself time to let their messages be seen and you will find that they automatically start to flow for you. You might see pictures in your mind's eye. We wish to 51
Diane K. Chapin caution you not to discount these for they are what your animals are sending you. If you will relate to them, you will find you will be able to send pictures back and verbally speak to them about what you have seen. They do understand a great deal. They have quite a linguistic gift (the word 'linguistic' being used in its widest sense) and many understand a great deal more than they are given credit for. Now, even if you are not in contact with a specific animal or pet... but if you visualize and a certain animal comes to you, it will be trying to impart a general knowledge. It is another way of looking at spirituality, of Spirit and of how you should conduct yourself on the earth plane. Much of what the animal comes to teach is about conduct and about how to treat one another with love and respect. So, animals are living in reverence, in communication and in Spirit and they are, in a sense, meditating on their spirituality when they are at rest. This is also what we would ask you to do during sleeping hours: to reserve a few evenings a week to literally meditate on your spirituality and let those dreams come through which are describing your spiritual growth to you. In this way, you will see the transitory nature of all. You will begin to see that Spirit is at the essence of all that is manifested in the Universe and you will begin to see the truth that your pets are here to teach you. That is, that truth is living in the moment, it is the perception of God in the life and is simply allowing the spiritual energy of God to provide you with whatever it is you need, even including a new home, if necessary. It is important to understand that pets, indeed, visualize. For as they visualize, they communicate their needs to you. If they are hungry they will visualize food. At times of 52
Life Through Self Empowerment illness they very often are visualizing their distress. It is important for you to learn to tune into that visualization. You will find that if you will do that, you will be able to name the discomfort and have it cared for. You may also be directly in touch with your pets telepathically, but many find this difficult. The visualization process can be transmitted psychically; certainly learned by each of you as to the better care of your animals and, really, to learn the gentleness of their nature, the spirituality of their nature and the harmony of their being. This is why animals so often live in contentment and well-being, they are in harmony and they restore that harmony to themselves through their meditative dream state on a daily basis. In other words, they are constantly returning to Spirit, constantly refreshing and nourishing themselves, and constantly living from their souls into an evolution of a life as it unfolds for them. Let us speak about those animals who have been abandoned, neglected, lost, or that go to the animal shelter and wind up in research centers. What is that about? It is not about the animals. It is not that this animal is more negative than others. It is really the human view of animals. It is that there is negativity in the world, there is lack of spirituality in regard to animals and so some animals serve in this most degrading way. It is about what human beings view animals for, that is, for their use rather than as guides. So it is a sadness with human beings that they must learn to overcome. Many souls now are speaking for animals and are realizing that animals are far more than they appear to be. 53
Diane K. Chapin So, it is literally that animals who are unable to defend themselves are caught in these tragic circumstances and it is up to mankind to alter this. In doing so, the vibration of the earth plane will once again change, great upliftment will take place and human tragedies and animals' tragedies eliminated from the earth plane. The vibration will change significantly and what will come about is a vibration of grace, forgiveness and great understanding. So it is very important that the animal tragedies be eliminated. Now, in regard to medical research... not of cosmetic, but of medical research... for there is some element of necessity to that. We wish to say that science has brought forward many great gifts to mankind and this is a very complicated issue. We do not necessarily condone... we cannot say it is right, but we also wish to speak on the behalf of those scientists who have dedicated their lives to mankind in this way and acknowledge that animal suffering has brought about great strides in medicine. And so, there is to be some forgiveness for their suffering, but not for body adornment, not for neglect, not for inhumanity, for no purpose. Medicine endeavors to serve mankind. Body adornment is shameful when it is at the expense of another's life and it is not well looked upon. So, what has to happen is that the planet must uplift. The planet is uplifting and efforts are being made. You can see great strides coming about and it might take some turmoil. But, just as nations are revolting against oppression, so are pets. Many are running away from their abusive homes, many are seeking better lives, and many are to the point where they will turn on their masters, for they no longer wish to live in disrespect. 54
Life Through Self Empowerment There is a great deal coming about on both ends, animal and humanity. But man's attitude toward animals must change... sea animals, jungle animals, they were all put here for the balance of nature and pets were given to you for the authenticity of their being. To disregard them is to be hostile to yourself. To those souls who abuse others and pets who also abuse themselves, for they are in lack of forgiveness of themselves. They are out of vibrational harmony, out of attunement and they, too, suffer. But this does not excuse their activities. Ignorance does not excuse cruelty. It does not. To consider an animal a dumb beast is to degrade yourself. For animals have some of the highest qualities that all human beings should hope to embody and that is the spiritual grace of God and the acknowledgment of that. So then, animals have come to teach a great message. The spiritual visionary, the Master who walked the face of the earth literally lived from the soul, literally saw through the personality and ego of other human beings, and was able to perform seeming miracles through understanding cause and effect, matter and molecules, as animals do. Animals live as Masters on the earth and display that every day for your use, for your growth and your enjoyment. One of the qualities of animals that humans so often forget is that they greet the day with such joy, such pleasure that they have survived another day... that they are here on the earth with you, their dearest companions, and that they are here to serve you another day. Another message to you is that you should arise with great joy that you have survived another day to be with those you love and to serve God. To have an opportunity to grow spirituality on the earth plane is always an occasion for joy. This is what 55
Diane K. Chapin these souls truly impart to you through messages, visualization and their demeanor. Once again, let us speak of demeanor. Their gentleness, their lack of ego, their tenderheartedness, their willingness to forgive once again... all attributes that they have come to teach you... to forgive circumstances, surroundings and actions of others. Animals always release and forgive. It is not that they do not understand that they have been abused and mistreated, rather, it is that they are of such a spiritual essence that they immediately forgive and release, living again from the soul. Forgiveness does not take place necessarily, as you would know. It is simply an ability to let go of that concept of cruelty. It does not mean that they will not react with fear, but they are not reacting with hate until so much has been done to them that they have no choice. But they do not react with hate, they react as if a new day has come, a new opportunity has come for unconditional love. And this is what they are here to teach you, that a new opportunity has come for the experience of unconditional love on the earth plane. Each new day is an opportunity to serve God. Each new day is an opportunity to forgive. Each new day is an opportunity to live and be nourished from the soul, from grace, from contentment and joy in the life. This is a great message that these little beings have come to bring. They come undemanding, with lack of pretension and with the utmost candor, only asking that you give them what they supply you... great nurturing... for great spirituality flows between you and your pets. That is one of the reasons you are so drawn to them, that essence of Spirit, that essence of God, that light of the soul that you perceive from your own heart. All of that comes about between you 56
Life Through Self Empowerment and your animals. And so there is such a strength of connection when they depart and make their transition, that it is a great loss. However, other animals come for the same purpose. Not with the same personality or ways, but others are available to serve. It is to be understood that there is a succession of pets in the life that come for different purposes. That is, to align your soul, to align your spirit, to teach you a little more about spirituality, to show you a little more unconditional love. And so, it is to be understood that each new pet, as it comes into the life, comes with a purpose, with great love and with great compassion for your previous loss. These little souls who come after the loss of another, it must be understood, work extra hard to bridge that gap and we are here on their behalf to say that they should be given special love and attention for they are greatly receptive to your sorrows, sadness and illness. At a time of grief, they are attuned to that and they are very much in need of acknowledgment for their special attention to you at a time of transition of previous animals. You can also meet with your animal friends that have transitioned... this often happens in the dream state and it can even happen while you are awake, if you are prepared for it. Again, animals are very psychic and, because an entity is in Spirit, or not with you, it does not mean that they have discontinued to be psychic. So, if you open up your third eye, for example, you will be in touch with those animals that have transitioned, for they do not stop sending you unconditional love because they are in Spirit... they continue to. That is what you are resonating to and experiencing, the unconditional love they send you. 57
Diane K. Chapin So yes, continued communication with your departed pet is certainly possible through the psychic ability, through telepathy, through actually using your human sense of feeling, for unconditional love is felt at the level of the soul and even the cells. The level of the cells very much respond to that, the physical body responds to unconditional love with great intent and purpose, for it cries out for that. These new pets that come each time a pet has been lost, come with the purpose of bridging the gap. They are special and they come with the purpose of uplifting your heart and allowing that special joy, that spiritual attunement to flow once again into your life. That is why they are so missed... for themselves, yes, but it is as if that special contact with spirituality is lifted from the home. And so, it is well to replace and let that connection reform with another soul who has come to serve you. Pets very much come into each home with the singular purpose of vibrationally attuning to that particular family or person. So, understand that forethought is given. They are not just randomly situated here and there, there really is quite a bit of vibrational attunement that takes place before an animal is sent into a home. If an animal shows up at your door, it has been drawn and attracted by the vibrations in your home. It is to be assumed that pet has similar vibrations and is there to teach you certain aspects of unconditional love... and of a quality of life that humans so often forget to enjoy... that is, the joy, kinship and spirituality of God in the life. Very often, there is also a connection of such strength and love that animals will follow you through different reincarnations. At times this is because the message that 58
Life Through Self Empowerment they have been trying to impart to you has not been fully received. So, respect your pets as you would yourself. Honor them and allow them to bring to fruition all that they are here to teach you. Give them the respect and appreciation that they deserve and honor them as they honor you. That is very much the key to pets. Honor them as they honor you with their unconditional love. The quality of caring they give you is exceptional. On the question of the ingesting of meat, that of eating animals, let us simply say that in the balance of nature there is that aspect, but it is not necessary. Spiritually, we look upon this as a man-made view. We would prefer that animals were not eaten, but we think this will come about naturally as animals, again, are accorded their appropriate level of respect. We feel this will come about more on the earth plane. So, let us not diminish those who do. Rather, let us say, it is the level of vibrational attunement that is seen in life and the way animals are viewed. We are not prepared to say that all who eat meat are bad, but we are prepared to say that their life view will change as they come to honor pets. If your question is, "How does this relate to destroying animals for cosmetic beauty and adornment?" The ingestion of food promotes life. It does not promote life to wear a fur coat. So there is a considerable difference. Historically, it has come down through the ages that it is correct to eat meat... but times are changing... the vibration is changing. And, this is well. Those who are of the vegetarian inclination are certainly moving ahead. 59
Diane K. Chapin How does the ingestion of chicken and fish relate to this? Well, what is looked upon is what is healthful and what is not. Again, this is a very human concept. If you want to get down to basics, meat is meat. To eat fish and say that you are not killing a living object is simply a lie. It is an illusion you are creating for yourself... to say, "Oh well, this fish was in the sea and so it's O.K. to kill this, but we can't kill that." That is all a human configuration designed to fool yourself and to allow some ease with certain eating habits of choice. But what you are really looking at is a matter of human choice. Now, many people have also heard through the years of a particular species or breed of pet that seems to go somewhat berserk and attack humans with no apparent provocation (and such has happened with different pet species or breeds at different times). We would like to say that this has to do with how they are bred. This, again, is a human condition. It is not something that a particular species or breed is picking up from the atmosphere, it has to do with how they are bred and there are breeders that are breeding carelessly and hiding this fact. This is what is occurring, as we see it. The problem then becomes two-fold, for this interferes with the animal's natural vibration and, again, the breeders are breeding in qualities that are not desirable. Part of the breeders' responsibility is to keep the line pure and to provide whoever acquires that particular breed with the qualities that the pet is known for, not viciousness... that is not one of them and this is what is occurring... sloppy breeding. It is very bad and we do not look upon that well for the purpose of certain lines of pets, again, is something we can address. 60
Life Through Self Empowerment Certain lines of pets are drawn to different souls, for there is often an affinity from one line of pet to its master. That is, certain qualities of gentleness, of disposition... very often the disposition of certain breeds matches with its master and this is why we are criticizing the breed line. In addition, some of these breeders are creating a danger and a serious problem for others. Disposition is very much an aspect of breeding as is, certainly, good health and nutrition... all of those are a part of acquiring a certain breed. We also recognize that money is paid, good faith is given. This, again is not honoring the pet, not honoring the self, not honoring the animals' spirituality by breeding in these vicious characteristics and being silent and sloppy about it, for the benefit of making money. So then, essence and spirituality, forgiveness and unconditional love are those aspects of divinity that are yours, but that are demonstrated daily by the animals who come into your home as cats, as dogs, certainly as other entities. Your fish are there to teach you the aspects of silence with Spirit, of attunement and At-Onement. Your birds teach you the upliftment of Spirit through their joy in song, their joy in being. Your dogs teach you the nature of loyalty and your cats teach you the special gentle love that they have to give. Certainly, all are there to teach you of telepathy, visualization and psychic contact... and each one is constantly meditating in the spirituality of At- Onement and can teach you a great deal about spirituality and unconditional love... if you will only let them. You might ask, "What in an animal's evolvement has made him choose to serve in this way?" Let us say that it is appropriate that pets go on through eternity, as you do, in gaining spirituality, in gaining greater recognition of God in the life. When they are in an incarnation they absorb as 61
Diane K. Chapin much spirituality as they are able. When in Spirit, as you do, they experience more of the wisdom and grace of our Father. Pets often go through a series of incarnations as plants, as rocks, as those things which are close to the earth in order to absorb all of the vibratory states. Then they will incarnate very often in the animal form once they have absorbed such a level of vibration that they are ready to attune spiritually to the aspect of giving unconditional love on a daily basis. This is very much their circle of events and purpose... this is very much what they are in stewardship to do... they literally are in a stewardship of service to mankind... to show mankind the aspects of unconditional love, of grace in the life and of spirituality as a living quality in the life that can actually be experienced every day and provide a flowing from one to the other. This is very important with your pets: to let that spirituality flow between you, to experience that essence of nurturing that they give you and recognize it as spirituality. In anticipation of the question of animals reincarnating as humans, let us say, not in the understood sense. What is accomplished in Spirit is an envelopment of the understanding of the animal nature. So, it is not that they incarnate as humans, but that they impart their spirituality while in Spirit and this is part of their service. Now, there are schools of thought that are going to disagree with us, but there are many avenues of evolution and, as we see the vibrational attunement and energy, animals basically remain on the incarnated level as animals. However, the understanding and insight that some souls choose to take can lead them to believe that they were animals, for they have literally taken time in Spirit to assume that spiritual aspect of the animals. 62
Life Through Self Empowerment However, after animals or pets pass on or transition, they may well come back as another line, as another species in what we would call a cross-over... but that really is a choice of the soul. Very often, what we see is that there is a preference, if you will, of certain style, of a certain breed. So very often the same aspect will be taken many times over, for the eyes have to be different, from the cat to the dog, to the horse, to the bird. And very often the animal is... we don't like to use the word 'attached,' because animals don't suffer from such a degree of attachment... but they are of such a mind that they see their level of service takes place very well through a certain embodiment. So they often choose to stay in that level of service since it is successful. Jungle animals will change species more than pets, for they are less confined in their thoughts about themselves and they are of such a mind that they want to 'experience it all,' whereas those that have come into the realm of pets have lost some of that desire and they come to serve. Pets really see themselves as servants and come for that, whereas jungle animals, they feel, are above that. They are not servants. They are free, they are of the wild and they serve their own purpose. And so, it is a matter of definition on the part of the animal, what they wish. There is also very little potential for the animal kingdom to gravitate toward incarnating as those more spiritually evolved animals such as elephants and whales. They do not look at the elephant and say, "That is a more spiritual being than I am." Rather, they would try to uplift as they are... they have the understanding that it is up to them to lift their vibrations. They truly understand that and they would look to those elements, such as the elephant, and 63
Diane K. Chapin see the spirituality, but they would try to emulate it within themselves. They are great emulators. There is also a very low potential for wild animals or domestic pets to evolve further in other worlds or galaxies, and so on. Pets are more adaptable on the human plane. Human beings have a need for pets and other worlds and galaxies function from a different concept of themselves, of reality and what their needs are. But in other dimensions, let us say, pets can take on a different level of service. In other words, they can serve as guides to previous owners... that sort of thing. Sometimes, pets will withdraw from service for a period of lives while in Spirit. They will refresh themselves and nourish themselves, for it can be quite draining to continually serve on the earth plane. So, yes, they do reside in Spirit for that purpose and for upliftment, for exposure to the Infinite One. Pets require that as well and they will take that time, but they are so inured to the service to mankind that even if they want more, they will come back. It is not attachment, it is to be understood as different from what you feel as attachment. It is love for mankind and the understanding that they are here to serve, so they will come back to serve. They are very motivated by that level of service. So they deserve the most honor you can give them... the MOST honor. So, be aware of what your pets are there for, why they have come and who and what they really are. They are aware of those qualities about you, they are very joyous to share those aspects with you and to give you love without reserve. So, bless your animals, be tender with them and learn from them, for they have come to teach you much. 64
Life Through Self Empowerment Well then, we hope you will look upon your animals and all animals through new eyes and that you will see them for what they are, something to be treasured, honored and respected for the spiritual message that they are here to give you every day. Absorb that message from them. You will find that you will become quite uplifted and joyous through this avenue and understanding with your pets. We bless you for the time you have spent.
