PIUS X PARISH 13670 E. 13th Place, Aurora, CO, 80011 Office: 303-364-7435 Fax: 303-340-0122 Office Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30-5:00 pm STPIUSXPARISH.ORG & STPIUSXSCHOOL.NET School: 303-364-6515 PLANNED PARENTHOOD VIDEOS SPARK PRAYERFUL PROTEST (from Karla Swanson, Denver Catholic) Pro-life supporters around the country are responding to the series of videos exposing Planned Parenthood s inhumane practice of harvesting and selling aborted baby organs by getting down on their knees. Since July 14, the citizen journalist group Center for Medical Progress has released six undercover videos documenting the harvesting and sale of organs taken from aborted babies. The videos show employees, including several senior officials at Planned Parenthood, discussing everything from financial compensation for aborted baby organs which they priced at $30-$100 per specimen to how they can alter an abortion procedure to ensure intact specimens, and how some parents weren t even aware that their baby s organs were sold. The Center for Medical Progress has released one to two videos per week, including five that summarize investigative footage specific undercover meetings. Two of the videos are from the multi-part documentary series titled Human Capital, which weaves together expert interviews, eyewitness accounts, and real-life undercover interactions. Earlier this month, the Colorado Catholic Conference, on behalf of the three bishops of Colorado, called for a a day of prayer and penance in response to Planned Parenthood s horrific actions and all those involved in the procurement and use of aborted baby organs. We call on all people of good will in Colorado and beyond to pray that those involved in research and medicine will fix their sights on recognizing the sacredness of life and refrain from putting human life at the service of science, the statement said. A society can only be considered socially just if it protects the most vulnerable among us. Suggestions for that day include attending Mass, meditating on Scripture, spending time in adoration, praying the rosary, reciting the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and fasting. SEE YOU ALL AT OUR ANNUAL PARISH FESTIVAL ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 29 @ 5 p.m.

I say we should not be surprised, but we still should be shocked and appalled at this moral depravity. Recently, the Center for Medical Progress released undercover videos and documentation showing how people at the highest levels of Planned Parenthood are negotiating the sale of body parts and adjusting the way they perform abortions so that the body parts are more accessible...for those of us who believe in the sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death, may we never grow apathetic to the plight of unborn babies and may our government officials act decisively to put an end to this gruesome practice. May God give us this grace. Amen. ` Bishop Thomas John Paprocki, Diocese of Springfield in Illinois, We are called to put God above all else, Catholic Times, July 12, 2015 BLESSED If you have sight, you are blessed. If you have insight, you are a thousand times blessed. PARISH RETREAT On October 10 th St. Pius will be holding a parish-wide retreat to promote stewardship, evangelization and discipleship.
