NOTEWORTHY EVENTS ST. ANN S PARISH SADLY BIDS FAREWELL TO FATHER SAM. WE WISH HIM MANY BLESSING AND MUCH HAPPINESS. GOLF TOURNAMENT: The next committee meeting is Sunday September 6th after the 11 o'clock Mass. All volunteers are asked to attend so we can line up duties and responsibilities for the day of the tournament. A REMINDER OF THE Saint Ann Women s Association-our monthly meetings will reconvene on Friday, September 11th at 9:30 AM. All ladies of the parish are welcome to attend. We will be making final plans for the September 20th parish picnic and for the golf tournament breakfast which will be held on October 3rd. We will also be collecting articles for Dazz of Orangeburg for babies of size 0-24 months. At this time they are especially in need of boys' clothing, diapers, diaper bags, and pacifiers. Used clothing can no longer be accepted. Please join us to rekindle old friendships and to make new ones. RIGHT TO LIFE UPDATE: The national day of remembrance is September 12th this year. This date is set aside to remember and pray for the aborted and unborn and is especially important this year in light of the recent allegations concerning Planned Parenthood. Abortion is abhorrent in itself but to harvest body parts to obtain additional profits is well beyond the moral issue of choice. The Catechism of the Catholic Church ( sections 2270-2275) clearly spells out how this issue is gravely contrary to the moral law. On this day I ask you to say a special prayer/rosary for Gods most innocent and for the conversion of the Planned Parenthood organization. PARISH PICNIC: Milly Little will be handling the picnic this year. It will be held on Sunday, Sept. 20th, at shelter #2 in the Santee State Park after the 11 am Mass. Bring your own chair and beverage. More information will be forthcoming. This will be a chance to meet and greet our new priest, Father Tria.
