Praise Band/Tech Team Expectations and Application: Thank you for your interest in the Piedmont Student Band! We are super excited to see what God is going to do through this ministry. Worship leaders have the unique responsibility to help lead others through song to a place where we all lift praises to God. Below is a list of expectations and requirements each student will be responsible for, if they would like to be a part of the band. Please be in prayer about this decision, we are excited, hope you are to!! Auditions Each student will be required to audition, these auditions are to ensure that you are gifted in that area. It is not American Idol and we don t care if you have stage presence or a 3 octave range, we are looking for 2 things. Do you have a heart to serve the Lord, and are you gifted in the area that you are requesting to serve in. Some people don t sing well, those people shouldn t be vocalist. Others don t have a good ear for mixing music, they shouldn t run sound. We are looking for people interested in: Vocalists Musicians Lighting/Sound tech IMAG/Video Screen tech Below each sentence has a place for you, the student, to initial and for your parents to read and initial as well. To play on stage or sing on stage, you must have this form completely initialed, filled out, and turned in. Please know that your heart, character, and your relationship with Christ is most important to us!!! If at anytime this form is not followed, please know that one of our leaders will have a conversation with you to encourage you and see how we can help in anyway.

COMMITMENTS: 1) My first commitment to this ministry is to have a daily growing personal relationship with Christ. 2) Because of my commitment to Christ, as a participant in the Piedmont s Band Team, I must commit my life to shine for Christ in all that I do. Shining for Christ means to live above reproach, which means not participating in things that would cause others to stumble. This includes acting above reproach in my dating relationships, not smoking, abstaining from drugs, not cheating, not drinking, no sexual activity of any kind, and anything that is not God honoring. 3) I am committed to pursuing God with my life, which means my heart, my actions, and my life should honor Him, at church, with my friends, my classmates, my family, and in my Social Media World (IE: Facebook, tweets, and blogs) 4) Because of my commitment to this ministry, I understand that I represent CHRIST, my family, and Piedmont. 5) I understand that the Student Ministry Team and the Staff of Piedmont care about me, and that their first priority is to see me grow in the Lord, to hold me accountable to these commitments, and to be a support for me. 6) I understand that if I am not God-honoring I will be asked to step down from the Piedmont Student band for a period of time to work on my heart. 7) I am committed to practicing on my own during the week before my assigned weekends or service. 8) I will bring my music (with my notes on it) to the assigned, practices, rehearsals, events, camps, weekend services, etc. 9) I will connect with friends at the services that I lead worship at and commit to serve at all others that I am playing at by greeting or meeting other students.

10)I am required to attend Piedmont services weekly. To not only come to a service when asked to play, but to attend and be a part of the ministry as a whole. This will help you own the ministry even more. 11)I have and will maintain a GPA over 2.0 for the semester and do not have any F s. (Honor System) 12)The week that I don t play I will commit to sitting closer to the front of services and be actively involved in worship and teaching, encouraging others around me to participate in the service and not be a distraction. 13)I will attend all required practices, unless an emergency comes up. If I cannot attend, I will call my leader at least 24 hours in advance. I understand that if I miss a practice I will not be allowed to play the following weekend (unless there is a legitimate excuse). _ 14)I understand that being late to practices/sound checks or leaving early is not acceptable. I understand that the time given for practices is the start time or down beat. I will not arrive at that time; I will come early to set-up my equipment and will be ready to play at start time (this includes ALL venues). Be early, set up, tuned, warmed up, and ready to start. 15)I understand that, no matter who the worship leader is, I will not be offended when they decide what to do with a song or with the parts of the song. I will be open to the suggestions and comments from the Piedmont Worship Leaders. 16)I understand that this is a ministry and not a HOBBY. _ 17)I understand that I am here to serve and not be served. _ 18)I understand the difference between leading worship and performing, and agree that we are not performing we are leading worship. 19)I will be a team/family player. 20)I understand that I will not cause dissension in the body of Christ if something doesn t go my way, or else I will be asked to step down.

21)I will respect the opinions of others in the band and encourage them. 22)I understand the simplicity of leading, and I will not be offended if I do not get to play or sing a certain number of times or certain parts in a song. 23)I understand that if I use any of the church s equipment that I will need to put it back where I got it from. I will not just dump it back in the room for someone else to clean up. If I don t put things back I won t be allowed to use the equipment. I also understand that the equipment that we use is God s equipment and I will take care of it. 24)I understand that if I have any suggestions or comments about the way the band members are playing, I will speak to the worship leaders. Because of my position as a worship leader, I understand that my appearance must be tasteful and not take away from leading other students in worship. I won't draw attention to myself through my clothing choice. Therefore, I will adhere to the following: Ladies: I will dress modestly, being sure not to wear tight clothing, too loose clothing, see through clothing (without something acceptable underneath) any tops with spaghetti straps or tops that show my bra straps. Dresses and shorts will be an appropriate length below the middle of the thigh or just above the knee (when it doubt don t wear it). _ Guys: I will wear shirts that have sleeves and do not have holes in them. I will not wear shirts with offensive logos. Know this When in doubt, DON T. The leadership is responsible for how we represent our ministry on stage and these guidelines are in place to protect you and protect the ministry. If you are asked to change or wear something else and you whine or complain about it, then you need to check your heart, because then it becomes an issue in your own heart, showing that you re more concerned with how you look and it s about you and not about God. _

STUDENT I, (student) understand the commitments, requirements, understandings, and dress code being a member of the Piedmont Student Band and the standards to which the leaders are holding me. I understand that at anytime I can be asked to step down for period of time if this contract is not followed. I understand that the most important factor in my life is my relationship with God. If at anytime it is hindered, I will step down from the worship team to make sure that my relationship with Him is first and foremost. I will serve, play, dance, sing, live and rock for the audience of ONE JESUS.
