P a g e 2 T h e S e t o n S e n t i n e l S t. E l i z a b e t h A n n S e t o n P a r i s h SETON BUS TRIP A bus trip is being planned for parishioners of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, to visit the Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Emmitsburg, Maryland. We will visit the Basilica, the tomb of St. Elizabeth, historical sites, museum, see a brief film on her life, visit the gift shop, prayer walkway and chapel. (Hopefully we can celebrate mass there.) There will be a buffet dinner nearby in Thurmont, Maryland. You can register for the trip by enclosing $40.00 in a plain envelope, c/o Chris Calore, trip coordinator. You can drop it in the collection basket, or bring or mail it to the rectory by February 15, 2013. Please include your phone number. Checks should be made out to Chris Calore. Join us for this spiritual spring trip! THE LIGHT IS ON FOR YOU This Lent, you may go to any Catholic Parish in the Diocese of Scranton and celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation Mondays between 5:30-7:00 p.m. We would like to make this time period a special time for prayer which we all need more of in our daily life. On the Mondays of Lent, while the doors are open and the lights are on for the Sacrament of Penance, we will also have a period of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament beginning at 5:30 p.m. and ending with Benediction at 7:00 p.m. We need folks to sign-up to be present for about 1/2 hour of adoration so that Our Lord is not alone while He is exposed. Sign-up sheets for the 1/2 hour increments are on the tables at the entrance of the church. You will be making a commitment for the time period each Monday during Lent. Thank you for your cooperation. The Confraternity of Christian Women will meet next Sunday, Feb. 10th, at 2PM in the church hall. MAINE SOURCE MAINE SAVER VALUE CARD If you have not picked up your Maine Source Value card at Maine Source, you may pick your card up at the Rectory during office hours. Your old Value Card is now invalid. Thank you. HOLY NAME SOCIETY DANCING TO THE OLDIES Join us for a great night out at our Oldies Dance, Saturday, February 9th, from 7to 11pm in the church hall. BYOB and your own munchies. Music by our parishioner, DJ Jack Bravyak. You can t have a better time out for only $5.00. Get your friends together & reserve a table. Tickets are on sale after all masses, or can be purchased at the door. For more info., call Marie Viercinski at 885-1471. Hope to see you there! SIGN OF PEACE While we are experiencing the flu epidemic the pastor has asked that the Sign of Peace be eliminated from mass. If the presider chooses to include the sign of peace, a simple nod of the head in acknowledgment of your neighbor is sufficient. Please refrain from shaking hands with anyone in church to avoid contraction of the flu or any other contagious ailments. This will remain in effect until further notice. The Holy Name Society will meet next Sunday, Feb. 10th, after the 8:30AM Mass in the church hall. INTERESTED IN SINGING? The combined choirs will begin to practice for this year s Holy Week and Triduum Celebrations. Join us on Wednesdays, beginning February 6th at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome! The Youth Choir practices on Sunday morning between 9:15-9:45 in the basement of the church. All young men and women of the parish are most welcome to join us.
