This table tent is part of Bread s continuing efforts to encourage ongoing prayers for an end to hunger. Each of the six panels includes scripture readings for each of the five Sundays in Lent and Holy Week in Year C of the Revised Common Lectionary. A prayer and suggested actions are also offered for each week. Through our prayers, we participate in God s work of liberating people from hunger and poverty. Baptized, We Live: In the early church, Lent was a season of preparation for baptism for adult converts to the faith. It remains a season of repentance and renewal for all Christians. Join Pastor Ryan for Discipleship Hour in Resurrection Hall each Sunday during the season of Lent (TODAY - April 14) for a joyfilled exploration of Christian faith as it is practiced in the Lutheran tradition. First Communion Instruction: Pastor Ryan is offering First Communion instruction at 6 p.m. in the Luther Room on Wednesday evenings during Lent (March 13 - April 10). Children in fourth grade normally participate in these classes, but older children who haven t yet received the instruction are welcome and encouraged to attend as well. Participating students will receive their first communion during Maundy Thursday worship on April 18 at 7 p.m. Questions? Contact Pastor Ryan: prryan@rlcindy.org. A note about children communing at RLC: We normally offer First Communion instruction for fourth graders, however, parents are free to discern whether their children may begin communing at an earlier age. Parents may wish to include one of the pastors in that discernment process, and we encourage you to let us know if your child is going to commune earlier than fourth grade so we can support your family s faith decisions appropriately. WELCA Quiltmakers: Join us for our next Quiltmakers gathering Thursday, March 14 from 10:15 a.m. - 4 p.m. Come, put the finishing touches on the project for the upcoming IK-WELCA Biennial Convention. We need lots of helping hands to thread ribbons/cords through the tops of 100 drawstring shoe bags for the Convention attendees. Come help and enjoy fellowship and conversation! Questions? Call Pat Hamby at (317) 508-9015.

On Wednesday evenings in Lent from 5-7 p.m., large coloring posters representing the seven last words of Jesus will be in Resurrection Hall for any adult who enjoys putting (colored) pencil to paper. Gather around and enjoy conversation with others while creating art for later display to enhance our observance of Lent and Holy Week. Smaller coloring pages will be available for children, so all ages can join in the fun. Maundy Thursday Agape Feast: Following 7 p.m. April 18 Maundy Thursday worship, all are invited to the annual Agape Feast in Resurrection Hall, a moving conclusion to the Maundy Thursday service and a special memory for our first-time communicants. Agape means love in Greek and the Agape Feast reminds us of Jesus feasting on this night with his friends. This candlelit feast is a beautiful, symbolic foretaste of the community of heaven. To make this beautiful event possible, the Agape Feast Team needs people to donate food, help with setup and cleanup and food replenishment. We would also like to borrow artificial ficus trees.
