Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee. Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, 17 22 But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt. And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds. 2 2 Then fled Moses and was a stranger in the land of Madian, 0 1 2 And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush. When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him, Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold. Then said the Lord to him, I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt. 2 Ex :2-,-8 And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. And the Lord said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:
2 of 8/22/20 10:18 PM 7 8 And the Lord said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow. And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh. And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign. Acts 7: He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years. 5 1 Ex : and the Lord,1 My and the Lord talked with Moses. My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. Ex 1: And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: 7 Gen 2: (to 2nd,),11,2-0 And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, 11 Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children. 2 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. 25 2 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. 27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. 28 2 0 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there. And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved. 8 1 Job :1 If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words. 1 I Sam :1,-10,1 And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision. And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep; That the Lord called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I. 5 And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.
of 8/22/20 10:18 PM And the Lord called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again. 7 Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, neither was the word of the Lord yet revealed unto him. 8 10 And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the Lord had called the child. Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth. 1 And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground. 10 8 11 1 5 7 8 11 1 1 Gen 27:8 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee. I Kings 1:1 Elijah(to Elijah),- went a,11- Elijah went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers. And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat. And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again. And the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee. And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God. And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah? And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. Isa 2:1 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. John 10: (to:),2-5,27 This parable spake Jesus unto them: 2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
of 8/22/20 10:18 PM 5 27 1 20 22 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: Rev. :20(to 5th,),22 (to hear) Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, He that hath an ear, let him hear Deut : (to :) Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: SCIENCE AND HEALTH 1 18 2 2 SH 08:1,1-2 The Soul-inspired patriarchs heard the voice of Truth, and talked with God as consciously as man talks with man. Jacob was alone, wrestling with error, struggling with a mortal sense of life, substance, and intelligence as existent in matter with its false pleasures and pains, when an angel, a message from Truth and Love, appeared to him and smote the sinew, or strength, of his error, till he saw its unreality; and Truth, being thereby understood, gave him spiritual strength in this Peniel of divine Science. SH 0:7-1 (to ;) Wrestling of Jacob The result of Jacob's struggle thus appeared. He had conquered material error with the understanding of Spirit and of spiritual power. This changed the man. He was no longer called Jacob, but Israel, a prince of God, or a soldier of God, who had fought a good fight. He was to become the father of those, who through earnest striving followed his demonstration of the power of Spirit over the material senses; SH :8-11,1-2 When, led by wisdom to cast down his rod, he saw it become a serpent, Moses fled before it; but wisdom bade him come back and handle the serpent, and then Moses' fear departed. It was scientifically demonstrated that leprosy was a creation of mortal mind and not a condition of matter, when Moses first put his hand into his bosom and drew it forth white as snow with the dread Israel the new name Leprosy healed disease, and presently restored his hand to its natural condition by the same simple process. God had lessened
27 Moses' fear by this proof in divine Science, and the inward voice became to him the voice of God, which said: "It shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign." 5 2 SH 2:-11 Christ Christ is the true idea voicing good, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness. SH :1-2 The Son of God Throughout all generations both before and after the Christian era, the Christ, as the spiritual idea, the reflection of God, has come with some measure of power and grace to all prepared to receive Christ, Truth. Abraham, Jacob, Moses, and the prophets caught glorious glimpses of the Messiah, or Christ, which baptized these seers in the divine nature, the essence of Love. 18 SH 50:18 Spirit, God, gathers unformed thoughts into their proper channels, and unfolds these thoughts, even as He opens the petals of a holy purpose in order that the purpose may appear. Unfolding of thoughts 7 8 10 SH 581: ANGELS. God's thoughts passing to man; spiritual intuitions, pure and perfect; the inspiration of goodness, purity, and immortality, counteracting all evil, sensuality, and mortality. SH 58: Earth has little light or joy for mortals before Life is spiritually learned. Every agony of mortal error helps error to destroy error, and so aids the apprehension of immortal Truth. This is the new birth going on hourly, by which men may entertain angels, the true ideas of God, the spiritual sense of being. SH 2:11 Angels are God's representatives. These upward-soaring beings never lead towards self, sin, or materiality, but guide to the divine Principle of all good, whither every real individuality, image, or likeness of God, gathers. By giving earnest heed to these spiritual guides they tarry with us, and we entertain "angels unawares." SH 57:- These angels deliver us from the depths. Truth and Love come nearer in the hour of woe, when strong 5 of 8/22/20 10:18 PM
of 8/22/20 10:18 PM faith or spiritual strength wrestles and prevails through the understanding of God. 11 18 0 :1 1 2 27 1 0 2:1 1 SH 25:10- When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path. SH :17-1,0- The ear does not really hear. Divine Science reveals sound as communicated through the senses of Soul through spiritual understanding. Before human knowledge dipped to its depths into a false sense of things, into belief in material origins which discard the one Mind and true source of being, it is possible that the impressions from Truth were as distinct as sound, and that they came as sound to the primitive prophets. If the medium of hearing is wholly spiritual, it is normal and indestructible. SH 7:2-27 The infinite Truth of the Christ-cure has come to this age through a "still, small voice," through silent utterances and divine anointing which quicken and increase the beneficial effects of Christianity. SH 2:28- The effects of Christian Science are not so much seen as felt. It is the "still, small voice" of Truth uttering itself. We are either turning away from this utterance, or we are listening to it and going up higher. Willingness to become as a little child and to leave the old for the new, renders thought receptive of the advanced idea. Gladness to leave the false landmarks and joy to see them disappear, this disposition helps to precipitate the ultimate harmony. SH 55:8-1 Childlike receptivity The "still, small voice" of scientific thought reaches over continent and ocean to the globe's remotest bound. The inaudible voice of Truth is, to the human mind, "as when a lion roareth." It is heard in the desert and in dark places of fear. It arouses the "seven thunders" of evil, and stirs their latent forces to utter the full diapason of secret tones. Then is the power of Truth demonstrated, made manifest in the destruction of error. SH 58:1- (to :) Revelation xii. 10-. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ:

HYMNS 1 Hymn :0- Hymn Stephen G. Bulfinch Adapted UFFINGHAM Jeremiah Clark Hath not thy heart within thee burned At evening's calm and holy hour, As if its inmost depths discerned The presence of a loftier power? It was the voice of God that spake In silence to thy silent heart, And bade each worthier thought awake, And every dream of earth depart. O voice of God, forever near, In low, sweet accents whispering peace, Make us Thy harmonies to hear Whose heavenly echoes never cease. 2 Hymn 7:0-2 Hymn 7 Based on the Dutch of Abraham Rutgers GRATITUDE Canzuns Spirituelas, Celerina, 175 Glory, honor, praise and pure oblations Unto God the Lord belong; Come into His presence with thanksgiving, Come before Him with a song. In His hand is all the power of nations, Sing to Him, ye joyous congregations, Psalms of gratitude and praise Unto God the Father raise.
8 of 8/22/20 10:18 PM God is Mind and holy thought is sending; Man, His image, hears His voice. Every heart may understand His message, In His kindness may rejoice. Lo, He speaks, all condemnation ending, Every true desire with Love's will blending; Losing self, in Him we find Joy, health, hope, for all mankind. Hymn :0- Hymn Violet Hay CAROL Arranged from David G. Corner by H. Walford Davies Music by permission of H. Walford Davies All glory be to God most high, And on the earth be peace, The angels sang, in days of yore, The song that ne'er shall cease, Till all the world knows peace. God's angels ever come and go, All winged with light and love; They bring us blessings from on high, They lift our thoughts above, They whisper God is Love. O longing hearts that wait on God Through all the world so wide; He knows the angels that you need, And sends them to your side, To comfort, guard and guide. O wake and hear the angel-song That bids all discord cease, From pain and sorrow, doubt and fear, It brings us sweet release; And so our hearts find peace.
