SURELY THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD IS IN THIS PLACE Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place; I can feel his mighty power and his grace. I can hear the brush of angels wings, I see glory on each face; surely the presence of the Lord is in this place. **CALL TO WORSHIP (responsively) Leader: Springtime changes are bursting forth around us. People: The earth awakens from winter with a display of wondrous color. Leader: The cycle of living and dying continues. People: As it has in ages past and will for ages to come. Leader: Lent has passed and the celebration of Easter Sunday is over. People: But the message of new life, new awakenings, and new possibilities remains with us. Glory to God! Alleluia! **HYMN #158 (UMH)... COME, CHRISTIANS, JOIN TO SING CALL TO CONFESSION PRAYER OF CONFESSION (in unison) Almighty and eternal God, we thank you that you have not left us alone in our sin and despair. Loving us, you have brought us good news and set before us the way of life. Yet we confess that we have failed to see the way. In stubborn pride we have spurned your mercy and your help. In selfishness we have turned away from those who need us. We have allowed ourselves to be crushed by troubles, as though Christ had not been raised at all. Forgive our faithlessness, and grant that we may know new life and hope, in the spirit of the resurrection. In Christ s name we pray. Amen.
