The Ensgn Zarahemla Branch NOVEMBER 2015 By Hgh Prest Brad Gault Lsten to the voce of Jesus Chrst, your Redeemer, the great I AM, whose arm of mercy hath atoned for your sns, who wll gather hs people even as a hen gathereth her chckens under her wngs, even as many as wll hearken to my voce, and humble themselves before me, and call upon me n mghty prayer. Secton 28:1a No one can argue that we lve n a dffcult day. Decadence s on dsplay just about everywhere. Moral declne s not just evdent; t s wanted and sought after. Conservatve Supreme Court nomnee Judge Robert H. Bork chroncles our plght n hs book Slouchng Towards Gomorrah. In t he states So unrelentng s the assault on our sensbltes that many of us grow numb Indvdualsm that s unconfned by the tenants of the gospel and ts moorngs wll end up n hedonsm. Our world s fast approachng the day when the Machavellan pursut of pleasure wll be all that matters. The word of God bears record; as t was n the days of Noah, so t shall be also at the comng of the Son of Man. (Matthew 24:44) And as t was n the days of Noah, judgment wll certanly be poured out. Perhaps t has already begun on Hs house. God wll release hs grp on those that stran aganst hs lovng grasp and the consequences of sn wll devastate. Jesus knew. He was well aware that the fraltes of our flesh, the nature that we nhert at brth, and the uncertanty of our stuatons would collde wth a force of devastatng strength and determnaton. He knew we would see the sghts that dazzle and the temptng sounds that we would hear. He knew that self-confdence, that affluence, that prde, that self-pty, that power would provde the green grass that attracts wanderng sheep. He knew that the enemy crafty, deceptve, evl, polluted, hateful and attractve would do anythng and everythng to draw us away. The metaphor s correct lke sheep, we are prone to wander and prone to leave the God we love and I m sure that Jesus knew that there would be tmes n all of our lves when we would stray, when we would doubt, when events of pan and catastrophe would wedge a crowbar aganst our resolve. That s why he was prepared from the foundaton of the world to save us and that s why He endeavors to holds us so tght. There s somethng wonderful about the mental pcture of our Savor wrappng hs omnpotent hand around each of us, and of the Father wrappng hs own almghty hand around hs. We become encrcled about wth the matchless bounty of Hs love (Alma 14:95) and our lfe s hd wth Chrst n God. (Colossans 3:3) The story of Noah and hs famly s preservaton provdes an example. When the ark was fnshed, God shut Noah nsde. The storms of judgment fell n all ther fury. The fountans of the great deep [were] broken up, and the wndows of heaven were opened, (Geness 8:36) but Noah was safe. He was n the ark. The waters of judgment fell on the ark, not on hm. Our salvaton, securty and protecton are sure f we lsten to hs voce. Hs lmtless grp wll encrcle us and hold us tght f we lsten to hs voce. Hs love wll never let us go f we lsten to hs voce. He wll never relnqush control f we lsten to hs voce. O my people, sath the Sprt, Hear the word of God today; Be not slothful but obedent; Ts the worlds momentous day! Unto honor I have called you Honor great as angels know; Heed ye, then, a Father s counsel, And by deeds your purpose show. Tme s rpe! My work must hasten! Whoso wll may bde the hour. Naught can harm whom God protecteth Elements confess hs power. Up ye, then, to the hgh places I have bd you occupy! Perl wats upon the heedless, Grace upon the souls who try! Despte the dffcultes that we see and even experence, hs promses are sure and the glory of Hs comng wats to break upon our day.

GIVE BACK HOPE Many of you remember the vst of Joseph Kabvalo who came from the country of Malaw and vsted our congregaton n July. He stayed at the home of Rex and Penny Curts. Hs testmony of fath and hs journey toamerca touched the lves of many Sants! Joseph, s the founder of Lnungw trust organzaton whch s an orphanage that helps 68 chldren. Many days, Joseph walks up to 30 mles to "fund rase" to feed the chldren. When he was asked what the orphanage was able to provde for the chldren to eat he sad, " For breakfast many tmes t s tea wth sugar and mlk. Md day, a porrdge mxture of Soy and Maze and for dnner, the same." The chldren are n need of clothng, medcal supples and school supples. Most of the tme, t s hmself, hs wfe and two other volunteers that see to the needs of the chldren. Durng hs vst, Penny arranged a meetng wth Randy Vck, who s on the Board of Drectors for an organzaton here n Independence called Gve Back Hope. Hs testmony encouraged Randy to brng the plght of the orphanage to the Board of Drectors. At that tme, Penny Curts was also voted to become a member on the Board. They voted unanmously, to fund the orphanage on an ongong bass. The followng s a short Bo of what Gve Back Hope does: Gve Back Hope s dedcated to helpng those who are n need. We often take the hope that lghts the way n our lfe for granted. We are dedcated to restorng hope to the lves of those who sometmes feel hopeless and to see the lght of Jesus Chrst shnng n ther eyes. Through generous contrbutons, Gve Back Hope has been helpng orphans n Lbera for several years. Now those chldren are growng up and we are helpng them contnue ther educaton. More recently we have begun helpng chldren n Sr Lanka to be able to attend school. Gve Back Hope Intl has just adopted the Lnng Trust Orphanage nllwe, Malaw. We need your help to meet the needs of the 38 orphans who lve at Lnungw and the 30 orphans that Lnungw has placed n foster homes near the orphanage. Please consder gvng $30.00 per month to sponsor one of these lttle ones and help nsure a brghter future for them. You can mal your donaton to Gve Back Hope,PO Box 108, Independence, Mssour, USA, 64051, and you can vst our webste, www.gvebackhopentl.org for more nformaton. We also have a Face Book page where we post up to date nformaton about the chldren and efforts that we are makng to lft up those n need. We pray you wll gve consderaton to the great need of these chldren. Thank you! Please consder sponsorng one of the more than 100 orphans we are helpng.
