PERSONAL WORD SUNDAY, MAY 17, 2015 8:45 & 11 AM Sanctuary Senior High Recognition Sunday The 8:45 AM worship service is broadcast via 15-minute delay from 9-10 AM Sundays on WAPI-1070 AM. SERMON Dr. Andrew Wolfe MUSIC 8:45 AM Cross & Flame Youth Choir, Colby Myer 11:00 AM William A. Gardner Handbell Choir, Sanctuary Choir MINISTER ON CALL Bobby Scales, 746-4547 First of all, thank you for the Roast last Thursday evening. Dawn and I laughed until we cried as you reminded us of what a wonderful place Trinity is, and what joy we have had in serving with such talented, caring, dedicated people. More about that later... I can recall going to the circus as a kid. My favorite act (besides the wild animals), was the trapeze. It was amazing to watch the trapeze artists fly through the air, doing their somersalts and twists 30 feet in the air with no net. The most captivating moment came when one of the performers would release his hold on the bar and suspended in the air for what seemed like an eternity, before he grabbed the hands of the catcher on another trapese bar. That transition moment between letting go and taking hold makes you catch your breath. It is an exciting/terrifying moment at the same time. Transitions are a part of life. Young people will parade across stages all over the nation, and be given a diploma signifying that one part of the journey is over and a new one begins. In June, Dawn and I make the transition into retirement. Some transitions we seek; others we don t choose. A job is lost, a death occurs, and we are thrown into a tailspin. But all transitions are similar they involve the same process of letting go and laying hold. This Sunday, as we celebrate graduation for our high school seniors, I will preach on the theme of Now What? In my last three Sundays as your Senior Pastor, I will be doing a series with the title Creedo: - Why I Am a Christian (May 24) - Why I Am a United Methodist Christian (May 31) - Why The Church (June 7) 8:45 & 11:00 AM WESLEY HALL Rev. Trinity Seeking Church Administrator Trinity is seeking a qualified Church Administrator to carry out many of the functions that Ann Neptune has performed so well for us for so many years. A bachelor s degree (preferably in business administration, management, accounting, or similar field), as well as multiple years of supervisory experience, are required. The Church Administrator must have excellent written and oral communication skills, be computer savvy, possess a diplomatic disposition for handling sensitive issues, and contribute to a positive and effective work environment. A Certified Church Administrator designation is preferred, but not required. If you are interested, please submit your resume (including at least 3 references) by the close of business on Friday, May 29, 2015, to: Rev. [ New CONTACT Worship Series ] In between the more popular stories in the Bible, hidden deeply in thin pages, are dozens of fascinating little tales of humanity s relationship with a gracious God. But unless we are intentionally reading through scripture we often miss them. This Sunday, Contact worship will continue a new worship series entitled Lost Stories from the Bible. Each week we will listen to a lesser known story that will help us experience the amazing story of God s grace. Sundays at 8:45 and 11 AM - Wesley Hall 3
