My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord. Let every creature praise His Holy Name for ever and ever. Psalm 145:21 WELCOME: A sincere and warm welcome we extend to all who worship with us today. May our worship truly teach us all how to serve our God and King better. May you truly know what it is to be a son or a daughter of the Living God whom we worship through the merit of Jesus our Lord. Please join us after the service for refreshments in the Fellowship Hall. Children aged 3-5 meet your teachers in the foyer during the offering this morning for Children s Church. The cookies this morning are in honor of Mae Lieuwen s 90 th Birthday this past Tuesday, July 4. Happy Birthday, Mae! ABOUT OUR MESSAGES This morning, we hear that the third of our Reformation Pillars is Faith Alone. The important thing to remember about faith is its object: the God who often displays his power to save His people. Exodus 14:10-31 is a vivid example of God s abilities to save and a great prelude to what He has done for us in Christ. This evening, we ll be continuing our theme of faith alone by looking at what happens when you try to add to faith. In Galatians 3:1-14, Paul speaks to a church that is bewitched by a different gospel that relies on something other than faith alone. PRAYERS AND PRAISES Victor & Lori Selemani are asking for Prayer Partners for the participants of the Discipleship Training School going on right now in Mozambique. If you have a heart for prayer and encouragement, please pick up a picture from the west credenza in the Narthex.
Please be in prayer for our High School Youth, who will be leaving this coming Saturday for the Reformed Youth Services convention at Biola University in the Los Angeles area. Please ask God for safety and that this experience would form the students more into disciples of Christ. In the past few weeks, Esther Hoekman relocated to her new home at the Platte Care Center. Please pray for patience in adjusting to this new place and for God s continued care over her health. The Helping Hands Food Pantry is very grateful to those who so generously donated to the SERVE food drive recently. We are so thankful for all the community members who organize and plan all aspects of the SERVE project. Your efforts are a blessing to many people in the Platte-Geddes-Academy area. In addition to the SERVE project, there are many other community members who organize and plan other fundraisers for the local pantry. Every church has a spot labeled for the food pantry and this is an easily accessible way to donate to the pantry. There are also many community members who provide cash by dropping it off at the pantry or by giving their donation to a pantry member. Thank you so much for your continued support. Thank you to everyone for your prayers, cards, Gideon Bibles donated, and expressions of sympathy given in memory of Virginia Hansum. No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him. I Corinthians 2:9 ~ the Allis Hansum family We thank everyone for the prayers, Gideon Bibles and memorial gifts in the loss of our Mother and grandmother. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 ~the family of Jennie Kaemingk
