Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 WELCOME: A sincere and warm welcome is extended to everyone who worships here today. May the living Lord grant to each of us His blessing as we bring our thanksgiving of praise in the merit of Christ. We invite you to join us in the Fellowship Hall following our morning service for refreshments and fellowship. Children aged 3-5 meet your teacher in the foyer during the offering this morning for Children s Church. After the service this morning, the Days for Girls group will be meeting with Randy Hedman, from World Renew, to present the 100 kits that we made for a World Renew project in Malawi. If have been part of this sewing project in any way, please come to the council room around 11:30 AM to visit with Randy. If anyone is interested in seeing the kits or how they are made, please feel free to come to the council room, too. ABOUT OUR MESSAGES This morning, we close out the first act in our series through Acts, King on a Mission, with the dramatic story of Stephen s martyrdom in Acts 7:51-8:1a. Abraham Lincoln called the deaths of 50,000 soldiers at the Battle of Gettysburg The Last Full Measure of Devotion, acknowledging that there is some cause worth dying for. Stephen shows us today that God has given us a cause that is worth both the devotion of our life and, if necessary, our death the last full measure of devotion. Next Sunday morning we will begin a sermon series for the season of Advent, What Child is This? This evening, we welcome Rev. John Gorter, of New Holland CRC, to our pulpit as part of a pulpit exchange. He will continue our series through the Lord s Prayer by opening Micah 4:1-8 with the message, In the Name.
