Preteens, Jr. LYF, and Sr. LYF will be going to Carowinds on Saturday, August 4 th. The Cost is $34.50 which includes transportation and a park pass. Space is limited! Our Boy Scouts are home and safe from Summer Camp. They even came home with the Spirit Stick. Way to go guys! The Sr. Youth Council (SYC) meets next Sunday, August 5th at 12pm: These are the peer-elected youth leaders for our congregation. Any/all youth can give direct feedback and suggestions to these individuals for future youth events. F. I. S. H. Families In Study Hour Beginning Wednesday, August 15 th, Concordia s Board of Christian Education will be offering many small group studies and activities for all. The night will begin with a light supper at 5:30pm each Wednesday night. Information about the Bible Studies and schedule can be found on the Bible Study page of these Highlights. Nursery care will be offered. Family Camp at Camp Linn Haven is September 28 th 30 th. Planning has begun! Service Times Change Beginning Sunday, August 12 th, our service times will be changing to the following: 8:00am Traditional Worship in the Sanctuary 9:30am Praise Worship in the Family Life Center 11:00am Traditional worship in the Sanctuary The alignment of service times is necessary to the health and will being of Concordia Lutheran Church and its staff to better use all of our resources. A nursery will be available at all services. The American Red Cross has planned a Blood Drive for August 2 nd, from 3-7:30pm, in the Family Life Center. A $100 ticket gets you a chance of winning the drawing and two BBQ dinners. Thank you for supporting Camp Linn Haven. Thank you to everyone that helped clean up the Vicar House and provide fresh furniture and fixtures. The house looks great thanks to your efforts. Once again this year, we will participate in the Parade of Cans Food Drive for The Corner Table. Pick up a flier at one of the welcome centers for a list of much needed items. The food drive runs from August 1 st to August 31 st.

That we all die is pretty much agreed upon, it's what takes place two seconds later that makes us wonder. Led by Dave Beringer Adult Room #1. CVMC - AHEC 105. Communion: In the Lord s Supper, Jesus offers the faithful His true body and blood to eat and drink. These words, Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins, show us that in the Sacrament forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation are given us through these words. These words, along with the bodily eating and drinking, are the main thing in the Sacrament. Anyone who has questions is invited to speak to the pastor or an elder before communing. The cups in the center of the tray are filled with a white non-alcoholic wine and gluten free wafers are available for those with allergies.

27 Prime Timers will travel to Wohlfahrt Dinner Theater in Wytheville, Virginia, on August 8th for dinner and the play "One Nation Under God". Due to the BBQ Event Planned for August 8th at 5:30 PM in the horseshoe, please meet in the school parking lot at 9:15AM. The bus and a few cars will leave at 9:30 AM from the school. The PrimeTimers will have our regular meeting August 13th in the Emmaus Room at 11:30 AM for a pot luck luncheon and entertainment by Mike and Carolyn Sosabee from Old St. Paul s Lutheran Church. During our business meeting, we will discuss an October trip to the Hudson Dinner Theater to see "Children of Eden." We will also discuss a possible trip to Blowing Rock. Hosts for our August meeting are Danny Hefner and Vivian Knight. We invite those who are age 55 and over to join us for all our activities. There will be a concert by "Imperfect But Forgiven" singing group from the Maiden Prison Camp, September 19th at 9:00 AM here at Concordia in the sanctuary. All Concordia Church members and friends are invited to attend.
