From the Pastor This weekend, with the celebration of the Baptism of the Lord, we bring to a close the Christmas Season. The next several weeks will be celebrated as Ordinary (or Counted) Time. Following that on March 6th (very late this year) we will celebrate Ash Wednesday and begin the season of Lent. That means, of course, that Easter is very late this year April 21st! Cambridge, MA For now, I would encourage everyone, first and foremost, to be dedicated to Weekend Mass. It is the most important thing that we do as a parish, and it strengthens both personal and communal faith. Secondly, try to engage in one other opportunity that the parish offers. These are listed weekly in the bulletin, and help greatly in connecting us with others in the community. This is important because our faith is personal, but not private. Church faith is always communal. We celebrate that this weekend as Jesus begins his public work creating a community of believers who live and share faith together. Mother s Prayer Group Tuesdays 8:00-8:30 a.m. St. Peter Church Beginning January 8 I lift my eyes to the mountains; where is my help to come from? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121 For mothers, grandmothers, and every woman with a mom's heart. We are starting a weekly prayer group within the international movement Mothers Prayers, begun in England in 1995 to help those mothers who wished to pray together for their children and grandchildren (godchildren, students and all children) and to find the support they needed. The movement has now spread throughout the world. Give a meaningful start to your week and take a moment to step back and reflect! Please join us every Tuesday morning, 8:00 to 8:30 in St Peter's church, beginning January 8. No commitment is necessary; come whenever possible for you. To learn more about Mothers Prayers, visit www.mothersprayers.org. For more information about our parish group, please email Eleanor at eleonorlebugle@gmail.com.
