GOD S CAPACITY FOR FORGIVENESS Where is the foolish person who would think it in his or her power to commit more than God could forgive? St. Francis de Sales DIOCESAN LENTEN APPEAL! Once again this year we are being invited to participate in this annual appeal for many programs throughout the Diocese as well as building up funds of individual parishes. As mentioned in the letter you have received for the fund this year, all the renovations and expenses from last year s kitchen and hall problems were taken from our reserve savings account at the Diocese. So this year, in addition to our Diocesan goal of $52,215.00, we would like to raise that to build up our savings once again. There are other projects that will require some attention soon, and your generosity will help us achieve our goal. Thanks so much for your care and generosity toward this year s appeal, the theme of which is Open Your Heart to Hope. MAY HE REST IN PEACE! Our faithful friend and former staff member, JACK KERR, was laid to rest this past week. As many of you know, Jack was a cheerful, caring and generous friend to all who knew him. He faithfully served our Parish for many years and was always reliable to lend a hand. Rest in peace, and may your family be assured of our thoughts and prayers. CONTINUING CONVERSION at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg Our RCIA Candidate this year is Thomas Legeza, who will be in attendance today with others from across the Diocese. Tom will be presented to Bishop Malesic as he begins his final preparation for the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist, which he will receive at the Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday. Let us keep Tom and all of those who will be received into the Church this Easter in our prayers. STATIONS OF THE CROSS during Lent are held on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. and on Fridays at 12:00 Noon. VITALANT BLOOD DRIVE! Units collected at the r e- cent blood drive were 23, which will benefit 69 individuals. We thank all of those who helped at this drive in any way and to those who responded with this gift of life. Donors were able to enjoy a bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup following their donation. TAKE TIME TO SMILE! Noticing that their neighbors were moving, Sue said to her husband, Don. I see our neighbors have returned our grill. They ve had it for eight months, and I was afraid that in their move, they d take it with them by mistake. That was our grill, shouted Dan. I just paid twenty dollars for it at their yard sale. Make it a good week! And don t forget to smile.
