Our Dowser Family will be gathering once again at the University of California at Santa Cruz for the West Coast Dowsing Conference, July 6 th to July 0 th. Please join us for what some have called summer cam for dowsers! Santa Cruz is one of California s most oular and beautiful resorts, gateway to such sites as Monterey Bay, Carmel, Cannery Row, Point Lobos, and Big Sur. Take time away from home routines while in the comany of kindred sirits. Enjoy magnificent settings of high grassland sloes overlooking the ocean, towering redwood groves and majestic live oak trees. There will be many oortunities to learn, and to exlore new concets and techniques with exerienced instructors. CONFERENCE: The Conference begins Saturday, July 7 th, and runs through Monday, July 9 th. Our resenters are drawn from the dowsing community and cover areas of interest related to dowsing and consciousness. Many are familiar seakers and some are new to our Conference with insiring new subjects. There is amle oortunity to meet and learn from highly accomlished dowsers. Each of the four class eriods during the day offers u to six toics to choose from, and some of our seakers make their resentation twice. FEATURED this year are: our keynote seaker, GLADYS McCOY, renowned dowser and co-founder of the Ozark Research Institute; dowsing schools for beginning and advanced dowsers; Young Peole s Mystery School; Sacred Circle Dancing; nightly Hositality: a time for social gathering and connections and several exciting Workshos offering exanded oortunities to kee learning. PRE-CONFERENCE DOWSING SCHOOLS: Friday, July 6 th, 9:5 a.m. to 4:00.m. Our Beginning Dowsing School and Advanced Alication Schools are among the finest in the country. Our teachers are exerienced dowsers, who will give you the ersonal attention you will need to be on your way to skilled dowsing. School fees are not included with Conference fees. The Beginning Dowsing School teaches the use of four common tools, and involves lenty of in-the-field instruction and ractice for water dowsing. First-time Beginning School students will receive a full set of dowsing tools which are the same as those the instructors use, and are included in the rice of the School. A secial resentation on How To Ask the Right Question and ractical uses of dowsing follow exerience in the field. The Advanced Alication School, for those with basic dowsing knowledge, offers various otions to exand skills with exerienced dowsing instructors. See descritions on the insert, and mark your choice on the Registration form. School Attendees: Please allow about an hour to ark and register for School. Bring a hat and sunscreen, as some of the schools and resentations are outdoors. Wear your name ribbon. Your School registration also entitles you to the evening s introduction of seakers and their brief resentation descritions, as well as the Hositality Room, which follows evening events. WORKSHOPS: Tuesday, July 0 th, 202 we will offer one full-day and four half-day Workshos in secialized subjects. See Worksho descritions on the insert, and mark your choice on the Registration form. Worksho fees are not included with Conference fees. Please re-register for the Worksho or Workshos of your choice. YOUNG PEOPLE S MYSTERY SCHOOL: The Mystery School is a dowsing rogram esecially designed for young eole ages 6-2, with secial instruction for teens. It is oen to children of adult attendees, and runs Friday, July 6 th through Sunday, July 8 th. The Mystery School is free of charge (u to age 9) and includes all kinds of fun activities: learning to dowse, færies & devas, treasures at the beach, animal communication, meditation, ower of the mind, labyrinths, sacred geometry and more. DIRECTIONS OFF CAMPUS LODGING and MEALS REGISTRATION Coming to the Conference? KEEP this information you will need it! REGISTRATION Please fill out the Registration form to register for the Conference, even if you are not staying on camus. Rates rise after May 8 th register now! Advance registration closes June 20 th. After June 20 th, bring your Registration form with you to the Conference and register there. Presenters, Teachers and Trustees lease send in your Registration form and check in at the Registration Desk when you get to the Conference to ick u your name-tag and let the Conference Committee know that you have arrived. ON-CAMPUS HOUSING AND MEALS On-camus accommodations are sacious aartment-style suites housing four articiants, each with shared bathroom facilities, a common room, and a small kitchen. A blanket and linens are rovided, but bring an extra blanket if you slee cold. On-camus lodging includes all three meals and arking-ermit fee (excet RVs and camers see Secial Parking Permits). Lodging cannot be urchased searate from meals. Double-occuancy room availability is limited reserve early! Single rooms have one twin bed and double rooms have two twin beds. Stays must now be a minimum of two nights. The College VIII cafeteria offers a wide variety of food that will suit almost any dietary reference. (If you have secial dietary needs, contact Irene at 408-238-0735.) Meals start with suer and end with lunch. Your first meal will be suer on the day you arrive, and the last cafeteria meal will be lunch on the day you leave. Worksho articiants on Wed., July 7 th may urchase a meal ticket for dinner see Registration form. Lodging/meal and registration fees must be ostmarked by May 8 th, as there is limited housing available. Requests for lodging received after that date are subject to availability. Doubles are limited send in early! Sorry, the housing does not have elevators, but there are elevators between the classroom levels. COMMUTER Conference articiants will need a arking ermit get one when you check in. The cost is $6 er day. OFF-CAMPUS LODGING and MEAL TICKETS Please be advised that July in Santa Cruz is the eak of the tourist season, and accommodations in town and in adjacent communities are booked months in advance. After you have turned onto the camus (Heller Dr.) turn Right at the College VIII sign (Koshland Dr.) and Left into the large arking lot below College VIII (the gray buildings above you on the hillside). ARRIVING and REGISTISTRATION ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS REGISTRATION and PARKING MAIN CHECK-IN times for those already registered are: July 5 th from 2 to 4.m. and July 6 th from 8 to 0 a.m. and 2 to 4.m. Please arrive during those hours if ossible. Park in the large lot at the bottom of College VIII, where you will be able to ick u your registration ackets, arking ermits, keys and meal tickets. There will be shuttle service, and baggage assistance to your room if needed. If you are not already registered, but arrive during the MAIN CHECK-IN hours, you can buy your arking ermit in the lot and then walk or take a shuttle to Dowsers Registration at the to of College VIII, where you can register for the Conference. OFFICE HOURS The Dowsers Registration office is oen July 5 th from 2 to 9.m., and July 6 th from 8 a.m. to 9.m. July 7 th through July 9 th, the office will be oen from 8 a.m. to 7.m. excet during meals. The office will be oen on Tues., July 0 th from 8 a.m. to.m., which is check-out time for on-camus lodging unless other arrangements have been made. DOWSERS REGISTRATION ARRIVALS AT ANY TIME OTHER THAN the MAIN CHECK-IN TIMES You need to ark in a metered arking sace in the uer or lower lot and ay the meter (the uer lot has very few meters!). Bring with you: your car s tye, make and LICENSE PLATE number. Then follow the signs to Dowsers Registration, which is at the to of the camus. Register or check in and get your name ribbon. Get your arking ermit and room keys at the nearby University Conference office. If you are staying on camus, the arking fee is included. If you are commuting, you must ay for a arking ermit that covers the days you are there. LATE-EVENING ARRIVALS: Please try to arrive before 0.m. If you do arrive by 0.m., go to the University s Conference Office in College VIII: come u Emire Grade (High St.), enter the camus at the little guard house, go ast the lower entrance to College VIII, stay on Heller Dr. (the main road), go under the wooden footbridge, and make the next right. Park and go around to the lawn side to find the office. If you find you have to arrive after 0.m., call Irene Healy beforehand at 83-402-80 (cell) so she can give you instructions. There is a big lot right below College VIII, and a remote lot about 0 walking minutes away. The Conference cannot be resonsible for arking tickets. SPECIAL PARKING PERMITS: RVs / CAMPERS Vehicles longer than a standard automobile will require an additional ermit from the camus olice. These may not be used as lodging on camus. OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION TRANSIT PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION Airort Van Service: Service is rovided by several comanies reserve ahead! Your destination: the to end of College Eight. Early Bird Shuttle: 83-462-3933; Santa Cruz Exerience: 83-42-9883 Coming by Bus: In Santa Cruz, call Greyhound at 83-423-800; Greyhound s main number is 800-23-2222. Local Transortation: Santa Cruz Metro is a good local transit system. The bus to downtown Santa Cruz runs frequently. Call 83-425-8600 for information on travel to College Eight. OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION CLIMATE AND CLOTHING: Dress is casual and comfortable. Days are usually warm (70 s-80 s F), but at night, it is often quite cool (low 50 s-60 s). There is morning fog, keeing temeratures down till it burns off. No matter what the weather is where you are, lease bring things warm enough to be comfortable! Include a warm sweater or jacket, and you may want your sliers. Bring a hat and sun screen for Dowsing School. Rain is unusual, but occasionally comes to greet us, even in July. VOLUNTEERS are always needed and are most welcome. We esecially need hel Thursday & Friday before the Conference, and Tuesday as the Conference is ending. After the Conference, recordings will be available by mail there will be information in the Conference Program and on the website.
