Please welcome the sisters from the congregation of Hijas de Maria Inmaculada de Guadalupe (Daughters of Immaculate Mary of Guadalupe) who have been selected by the Diocese of Oakland to participate in this year s Missionary Cooperative Plan. This congregation was founded 150 years ago in Mexico and their primary charism is teaching elementary, middle and high school children. The project for which they request our help is the construction of a new school building in Chiapas to replace an existing school they have been serving for 107 years, Colegio Guadalupano Constancia y Trabajo (Perseverance and Work, Guadalupan School). Property for this project has already been donated and now they are in the process of collecting funds to begin construction. The sisters are here to request our prayers and financial support in today s second collection. Thank you for your generosity and may God reward you in abundance.
