Growing in Discipleship Transformed for Ministry May 1, 2016 Sunday Worship 10:00 AM & 5:00 PM Sunday Church School Classes 11:30 AM-12:15 PM Welcome to Calvin Church In Worship: Our worship proceeds unannounced and follows the printed liturgy. Our Easter banner represents our joy in our Lord s resurrection: the purple conveys the reality of Christ s royalty; the blackness, symbolic of His death, moves from the onset easing into light, symbolizing life out of death. It is a promise fulfilled, giving us reason for hope in the truth of the eternal life to come. Large print resources are available at the information desk. Our facility is equipped with the Loop hearing system. For Children: Ages 0-2: Infant and toddler nurseries are available. Preschool: The Little Children (TLC) gathers downstairs in room 19 prior to the morning worship. K-2 nd : After the Children s Message the Children s Worship ministry meets downstairs in rooms 11 & 13 until the conclusion of worship. Parents meet their children there following the service. Busy Bags for young children are on the picket fence in the atrium. Bulletins for older children are in the rack in the narthex. Fellowship and Information: Everyone is invited to the Fellowship Hall for refreshments following the morning service. An introductory church DVD is available at the Information Desk. All of our ministries are described in the colorful folders at the Information Desk near the nurseries. Church office hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday Thursday Bulletin deadline: Wednesday Noon 616-451-8467 Office@CalvinCRC.org www.calvincrc.org

Jesus said, My Father is still working, and I also am working. John 5:17 Eastertide Ten o clock May 1, 2016 Prelude: Preludes on Old Hundredth [#1] Manz, Merkel, Pachelbel, Walther Welcome and Announcements Call to Worship: My Soul Finds Rest Aaron Keyes & Stuart Townend My soul finds rest in God alone, my rock and my salvation; A fortress strong against my foes, and I will not be shaken. Though lips may bless and hearts may curse, and lies like arrows pierce me, I ll fix my heart on righteousness; I ll look to him who hears me. Refrain O praise him, hallelujah, my delight and my reward; Everlasting, never failing, my Redeemer, my God. Find rest, my soul, in God alone amid the world s temptations; When evil seeks to take a hold, I ll cling to my salvation. Though riches come and riches go, don t set your heart upon them; The fields of hope in which I sow are harvested in heaven. I ll set my gaze on God alone and trust in him completely; With every day pour out my soul, and he will prove his mercy. Though life is but a fleeting breath, a sigh too brief to measure, My King has crushed the curse of death, and I am his forever. * Opening Hymns: All People That on Earth Do Dwell #1:1-3 We Will Extol You, God and King #562:1,2,4 * God s Greeting Prayer of Confession CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE Hymn of Confession: Come, You Disconsolate #614:1-2 Assurance of Pardon * Affirmation of Faith: Apostles Creed front cover of hymnal

We are also raising funds to offer aid to children from our congregation. Thanks to all who contributed donations through the Derby and Dog night this past Wednesday evening! What an enjoyable evening of fast cars and food and fun we were able to celebrate. MONEY WALL: An opportunity to donate to Calvin Youth Group students attending the Colorado Challenge trip.
