WELCOME and ANNOUNCEMENTS (See the inside of the back page) Information Cards. Please take a moment to fill out the information card in your bulletin, providing any information to enable us to better serve you. When you finish, place your card in offering tray as it passes or on your seat after the service. PREPARATION for WORSHIP "The love of God is a delightful and affectionate sense of the Divine perfections, which makes the soul resign and sacrifice itself wholly unto Him, desiring above all things to please Him, and delighting in nothing so much as in fellowship and communion with Him, and being ready to do or suffer any thing for His sake, or at His pleasure." - Henry Scougal (*Indicates where congregation is invited to stand, as able) *CALL to WORSHIP Psalm 105:1-3 WORSHIPING GOD S GREATNESS Minister: Congregation: Minister: Congregation: Minister: Congregation: Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing praises to Him! Tell of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those who seek Him rejoice! 3

*SONG of ADORATION O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing (Hymn #164, Verses 1, 2, 3, 4) Words and Music: Carl Gotthelf Glaser and Charles Wesley O for a thousand tongues to sing My great Redeemer's praise The glories of my God and King The triumphs of His grace My gracious Master and my God Assist me to proclaim To spread thru all the earth abroad The honors of Thy name Jesus the name that charms our fears That bids our sorrows cease 'Tis music in the sinner's ears 'Tis life and health and peace He breaks the pow'r of reigning sin He sets the pris'ner free His blood can make the foulest clean His blood availed for me 4

*PRAYER of INVOCATION ACKNOWLEDGING GOD S GRACE *CONFESSION of FAITH Romans 10:9-13 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." 5

CONFESSION of SIN After silent confession, please, pray the following in unison Eternal God, in whom we live and move and have our being, whose face is hidden from us by our sins, and whose mercy we forget in the blindness of our hearts: cleanse us from all our offenses, and deliver us from proud thoughts and vain desires, that with reverent and humble hearts we may draw near to you, confessing our faults, confiding in your grace, and finding in you our refuge and strength; through Jesus Christ your Son. Amen. ASSURANCE of PARDON for BELIEVERS Titus 3:5-7 He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 6

SONG of RENEWAL God Be Merciful to Me Words: The Psalter, 1912 Music: Christopher Miner. God, be merciful to me; On Thy grace I rest my plea Plenteous in compassion Thou, Blot out my transgressions now; Wash me, make me pure within; Cleanse, O cleanse me from my sin. My transgressions I confess; Grief and guilt my soul oppress. I have sinned against Thy grace, And provoked Thee to Thy face. I confess Thy judgement just; Speechless, I Thy mercy trust. I am evil, born in sin; Thou desirest truth within. Thou alone my Savior art, Teach Thy wisdom to my heart; Make me pure, Thy grace bestow, Wash me whiter than the snow. Broken, humbled to the dust By Thy wrath and judgment just, Let my contrite heart rejoice, And in gladness hear Thy voice; From my sins O hide Thy face, Blot them out in boundless grace. 7

MINISTRY of the WEEK Mirador Vespers Service Since 2014, Richard Mittanck and Emily Weaver have had the privilege of providing appropriate worship for the residents of the Mirador memory, skilled and assisted living communities. Attendance has been between 20-35. Throughout the years, family members, staff, and the attending volunteers have also benefitted from the worship and ministry opportunity. As they faithfully plant the seed of the God s Word, they pray that God will deliver His messages to their hearts. A community volunteer who studied Alzheimer s Disease observed and commented, You are just walking these people Home! These efforts have been deeply satisfying to many. The Sunday afternoon agenda typically includes music, prayer, and Bible study such as the petitions of the Lord s Prayer, Pilgrim s Progress, The Names of God, Derek Thomas Romans 8, John Piper s Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ. Prayer for Those Searching for Truth Lord Jesus, You claim to be the way, the truth, and the life. Grant that I might be undaunted by the cost of following You as I consider the reasons for doing so. If what You claim is true, please guide me, teach me, and show me the reality of who You are. Amen. Prayer of Belief Heavenly Father, I admit that I am more sinful than I ever before believed, but, through Your Son Jesus, I can be more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank You that He lived the life I should have lived, and paid the debt and punishment I deserved. Receive me now for His sake. I turn from my sins and receive Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. Amen. Prayer for Those Struggling with Sin Lord Jesus, help me to look to You as the fulfillment of all my needs, and to turn from every false satisfaction to feed on You, the true and living bread. Enable me to lay aside the sin that clings so closely, and run with perseverance the race set before me, looking to You, the pioneer and perfecter of my faith. Amen. Prayer of Commitment Lord Jesus, You have called us to follow You in a life of committed discipleship in Your church. Grant that I may take the necessary steps to be one with Your people, and live in the fullness of Your Spirit. Amen 16
