Masaya *11 & 12 where at the same week half week in one place, half week in the other place BICA COSTA RICA Hello brothers and sisters,
Thanks very much for all your support during this year. We have a wonderful year saving people preaching the Gospel and introducing in many cases for first time Jesus and giving a bible. We had in total 743 Baptisms, 546 Restorations, 160 disciples, 12 campaigns (10 official and 2 where two churches requested our support for half week, they covered all expenses. We received a Medical Team lead by bro. John Hendry from McDermott Rd, 3 building brigade (Sunset, Miami; Britton Rd, Oklahoma; Missions for Life, Canada.) Some of our students with me support these activities NO AFFECTING OUR SCHOOL TIME. We graduated 10 students from BICA program, 6 from BICA Wives Program and 14 from CELO there are 30 new graduated, we had some loses and we suffered, however they are in better place and better conditions now. Also some student left BICA (5) because health or family problems, and 9 students were sent home because bad behavior or indiscipline. 2 of them passed away and also some Professors die. But, again God is so good and always He knows what is best for us. We have a staff of 25 professors plus invited professors from Abilene, Harding, Baxter and Biblical Seminar in Canada. Thanks God we developed two SEMINARIES we share our concepts but also we were teaching the leaders from the south it includes 7 states from Nicaragua. We were training 700 leaders (men and women), we had a Youth Seminar 580 young people from 45 churches in the country. In our graduation we have an attendance of 520 people, leaders from 80 churches in the country and the 90% of our professors and graduated. Our graduated are working and they are in the 80% of the Nicaraguan churches. We have at least one student as a preacher in these churches. We finished the two set of apartments (8) apartments, and just working in details and we almost finish the laundry rooms for the married students. Each apartment has two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen & dining room and living room. It has ceiling, and iron bars on the windows for more security, has another filter and the gray water is going to the ground. We are waiting for the Electricity Company to have the electric meter for each building (each building has 4 apartments). As I already explained in my past emails we were noticed about the funds until August and obviously the budget change a lot. So, for this reason we couldn t accomplished our initial plan that were 12 apartments. After classes BICA participate with PERSONAL funds that the same students raised, selling cookies, and deserts and another activities that their wives did, we distributed hygienic packages at the hospital and nursery homes, also we feed the people in the streets and nursery home every 3 months and we preached there. Last weekend before graduation we visited 19 towns around Jinotepe, where BICA-Nicaragua is located and we pray for the people, we were singing on the squares and streets and we made banners to show God love for the people. Then we gave them the address of the closer church in the town. I, as Director attended each single campaign and stay with our soldiers, sleeping and taking a showers on rivers or lagoons, or in our improvised plastic bathrooms. Also I have been with the support of my wife buying the materials, and overviewing the construction process, preparing the place for new students coordinating their moving to the school and having meeting with the leadership for campaigns, seminaries and conferences. This year I teach, preach and participate in conferences, seminaries, forums, etc. in Guatemala (2 times) in Honduras (2 times) in el Salvador (1 time) in Cuba (1 time) in Costa Rica (1 time). I want to let you know and let clear that all these trips were sponsored by a partner mission with children of the King, the name of the mission is Missions for Life the President is Bernie Martin and he will send a letter to certified this. I HAVE NOT TAKE FUNDS FROM BICA TO DO THESE MISSIONS TRIPS. Thanks God we are waiting 1 student from Costa Rica and 3 from Cuba, it is no too easy to get students from Costa Rica or Panama a diversionist groups from Valdosta, GA and another places control the 95% of the churches in these countries and they have their own school, recently they established 2 schools in Guatemala and 1 more in Honduras. God will we will start
this year with 39 students. 11 are married (some cases husband and wife will study together) and 28 singles. Our first campaign will be last week of Feb we will help with the establishing of a new church in Masaya area. Next Tuesday I will send the Financial Report corresponding to November and December. We want to give special thanks to Glenn and Lorie for their effort building a dream in Nicaragua, special thanks to bro. John Hendry thanks him and some of his brothers and friends we developed a Guardian Angel Program to cover the special needs of our students actives or graduated, special thanks to Broad Street church of Christ in Mineola to cover our students from the rain and for give tennis shoes brand new for evangelism. This details make possible our work here. THANKS! NEEDS: 1. Your prayers. 2. Your support visiting us in campaigns or whenever you could that is very encouraging we appreciate so much the visit from the mission teams from Mineola, Temple, McDermott Road, Sunset, Miami; Britton Rd, Oklahoma, Missions for life and The Children of the King (Bros. Jerry Montgomery and Lewis Norman elders in Chisholm Trail, Duncan, OK) 3. We need more portable beds for campaigns at least 15 more ($75 dollar each one) 4. We need more beds and mattresses, to start the year Children of the King is allowing us to use their beds for our students. Each wood bed is $ 50.00 dollars we need 24 single beds to convert in 12 bunk beds. 5. We need to paint the yellow bus, and replace the smoke pipe. No proforma yet. 6. We should sell the blue Chevrolet pickup. It is too old and too expensive to give maintenance. We can t register the white Ford Van because the person who brought it DO NOT DO the right procedure. We will do our last try. We can do register vehicles older than 6 years, so if we get someone donated must be from 2011. 7. We still need the 4 apartments. 8. Just an idea: Would be possible to find people or churches who help us to put furniture and kitchen stuff in the apartments? I promise to put the name of the family, church or people who help to put beds, stove, refrigerator, blender, sofa, dining table, closets, TV. It s very expensive for our students to pay transportation for their stuff, and in some cases is not way (like Cubans) All these needs I informed in advance to Bro. George Hall when he met with the staff. If you have any question or suggestion please let me know. Last week by phone I was explaining to bro. George about sending my annual report. Pray for my recovery I broke my right foot, moving stuff from one building to other, but no worries I am still working, the Lord is my strength. Thanks to you all who make possible that we continue saving people and rescuing souls in Nicaragua. Thanks to the individuals and churches. Thanks God for His love and Mercy. In Him, Erick Garcia Director BICA - NICARAGUA P.S: CHECK THE PICTURES. TOMORROW I WILL SEND FROM THE LAUNDRY PLACE AND ANOTHER DETAILS.
