SERVER GUIDELINES FOR THE ST. GABRIEL LIFE CENTER +You all will get the candles/processional cross off the altar after you are dressed and go to the choir room which is the first door off the main hallway when you come in the entrance with the steps. This is where you will light the candles and have your before mass prayer. + You will line up as usual from the back of the church and process in as usual. Not bowing if you are carrying anything; bowing from waist if you are not. If you are the B captain you will go to your right and up the stairs by the choir, same for the candle bearer who is on the right. Everyone else will go left, take your seat (see below) if you have nothing and put the candle in it s place if you are the second candle bearer. +B captain - Processional cross stand is on the altar in front of the banner, then take your normal seat. 1

+ The book and the binder are normal place and the ribbon is. If you are with Fr. Josh he will want the book open early for the I confess to you and my brother and sisters that I have sinned. he will find the spot so keep your fingers at the bottom of the book. You can close it after that and then open to ribbon until the end of the Gloria then open to Father. You will use binder after the homly and Prayers of the Faithful for all priests but Fr. Parkes. + Seats for all other servers except B team captain 2

+After all the readings and Fr. s homily, the B team captain will get up and put the tray with ciboria on the altar and the wine flagan (wine pitcher) on the altar. We will not be pouring out the wine and after doing this B Captain will leave the altar and join the other servers to help. You will not return to you seat on the altar until after communion when Father takes the left over Body of Christ in the ciboria to the tabernacle behind where the servers sit on the floor. When he walks to the tabernacle, you get up and go up the steps to your seat and wait for him. + The priest chalice and purificator (white napkin) will be brought up by a server who is sitting on the floor. The book and paper that is on the altar will already be there and will not be touched when we clear the altar. It is there all the time during mass. 3

+ The priest chalice in on the credence table on the floor. Do not take the square/hard pall (covering) to the altar. If it is on top of the priest chalice, remove it and leave it on the table. +You will also find the water cruet here. Take off the top and leave it here. Go ahead and get up on the altar, if there are enough servers, while the gifts are being brought down. Stand in front of the little table the tray and wine pitcher was on. + The gifts are brought down the isle you processed in on. Two servers as usual will join Father on the floor in front of the altar and then go up the steps to do your normal serving. +You will wash hands as normal and it s ok to get on the altar while the water and wine are being mixed. +Servers DO NOT move the chalice tray. The wine in the flagan/pitcher becomes the Blood of Christ and the priests will bring that off the altar and pour it into the chalices. The Body of Christ tray will be brought down by the priests as well and placed next to the chalice tray. 4

+ At the Lamb of God, you will get up and go to the silver tracks on the floor. Stand with your heals to the first track. The other Eucharistic Ministers will join you. Some will stand on the brown tile but that is what they are supposed to do. + After you get communion, just stand there for a few minutes until all the EM s go to their spots. Then one of you go up to the altar and get the priest paten (gold or silver plate that the priest host is on with the gifts). Bring it down and put it on top of the priest chalice (lift pall if necessary) & put on to of chalice, replace pall. 5

The last item to deal with after communion is finished for all the people is covering the tray that has all the used ciborium. You will use the corporal (large white cloth with cross on it) on the bottom shelf and if it is too big you don t have to open it all the way up. PS- please don t put the towel in the bowl after there is water in it. This picture was taken before mass started. After mass, the tricky part will be making your way back to the altar to put the cross and candles back up there while people are trying to leave. Once you have placed them, you will clean up the credence table. Please carry these items separately (not on a tray): Priest chalice, flagan (wine pitcher) it has Blood of Christ in it now and the two glass cruets. The chalice tray maybe empty you could put the hand washing bowl/towel on it with the water pitcher if not too wobbly. You take these items to the main hallway, turn right and the last door on left leads to the kitchen. Go around silver tables to the right and place items. 6
