WORSHIP IN SONG Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing John Wyeth Robert Robinson Verse 1 Come Thou fount of ev'ry blessing, Tune my heart to sing Thy grace; Streams of mercy never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above; Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it, Mount of Thy redeeming love. Verse 2 Here I raise mine Ebenezer; Hither by Thy help I'm come; And I hope, by Thy good pleasure, Safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, Wand'ring from the fold of God; He, to rescue me from danger, Interposed His precious blood. Verse 3 O to grace how great a debtor Daily I'm constrained to be! Let Thy goodness, like a fetter, Bind my wand'ring heart to Thee: Prone to wander, Lord I feel it, Prone to leave the God I love; Here's my heart, Lord take and seal it; Seal it for Thy courts above.
SCRIPTURE READING Matthew 1:18-25 (ESV) Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel (which means, God with us). When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife, but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus.

OFFERTORY Thou Who Wast Rich Frank Houghton Verse 1 Thou who wast rich beyond all splendour, All for love s sake becamest poor; Thrones for a manger didst surrender, Sapphire-paved courts for stable floor. Thou who wast rich beyond all splendour, All for love s sake becomest poor. Verse 2 Thou who art God beyond all praising, All for love s sake becamest man; Stooping so low, but sinners raising Heavenward by thine eternal plan. Thou who art God beyond all praising, All for love s sake becamest man. Verse 3 Thou who art love beyond all telling, Saviour and King, we worship Thee.
