A powerful historical documentary that follows the fortunes of the Greeks living on the Black Sea with particular emphasis on the City of Trebizond (Trabzon in modern Turkey) was not only the longest surviving of the Byzantine successor states, but also a symbol of the Greek communities which have lived and thrive on the shores of the Black Sea since the 8th century B.C. in Eastern Pontus. PHILOPTOHOS V.I.P NEWS Philoptohos V.I.P. Trip to Laughlin Nevada October 18-20, 2016 The VIP board has planned a wonderful trip for you, 3 days 2 nights, at the Edgewater Hotel in Laughlin, Nevada. Cost is $110 per person double occupancy or $120 single occupancy. The rates include the hotel room for 2 nights, bed tax, luggage handling, bus, driver s tip, 1 dinner, 1 breakfast buffet. Please send your paid reservations payable to PHILOPTOHOS V.I.P. c/o Ourania Giagtzoglou 520 W. Buckthorn Street, Inglewood, CA 90301 (telephone 310-259 -1059) by September 10, 2016 to secure a room and your seat on the bus. Reservations will be on a first-come first servedbasis. We only have 25 rooms reserved. No refunds for cancellations after September 30, 2016, unless you find a replacement for your room. We will leave the Saint Sophia Parking area on Tuesday, October 18 at 8 AM SHARP. Please arrive at least ½ hour prior to departure for check in and luggage tags in front of the chapel. We will be returning Thursday, October 20, at about 6 pm. On our way to Laughlin and back to Los Angeles, we will stop for lunch. Everyone should be prepared to pay their own expense for lunch.
