Folks if your like me December is a busy month and they're just doesn't seem to be enough time (or money haha) to do everything you need or feel you have to do. So, lucky for you I will keep this brief. Haggard sang - if we make it through December, everything's going to be alright I know. I hope this holds true for each and everyone of you. Remember why we celebrate Christmas. Don't let the year end without letting your close ones know how much you truly care. Do something for the less fortunate if you can. As always support your Lodge, your community, Mooseheart, and Moosehaven. On a quick personal note, brother Walter Wommack, what a great job you been doing with our newsletter, brother Wayne Fulton congratulations on being our Moose Legion honoree. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Fraternally, Eddie I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We all have so much to be thankful for each and every day! The food drive for November was 214lbs donated to Our Lady of Rosary pantry. Thanks John and Donna for picking up the food and dropping it off at the pantry. The next food drive ends December 18, 2017. Any frozen foods must be there by 6:00 pm for pickup. Let s beat our total of pounds in December. Thanks to everyone that donated! Thanks to the WOTM for letting me be your Senior Regent. It is a true blessing to know each one of you! I would like to wish each and everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday! November was a great month, and the WOTM function was such a great success on Veterans Day. What a tribute to all our Veterans. Thanks you for your service. December 3, 2017, our own past Sr. Regents are doing our Ways and Means! Betty Allen (Buccaneer fan) and Lynn Hall (Green Bay Packer fan) are betting against each other. Hey You Guys, It s been quite some time since I last wrote an article for the newsletter. I have a short story about something that happened to me on December 14, 1997. (I know you are all thinking short story right Ha Ha) It was a really bad day for me. I d just moved back to Florida, left a marriage, had kid problems, felt terrible and it was raining. All in all a real crappy day. I had to stop and get gas for my broken beater of a car. I went inside the convenience store to pay and there on the counter was a vase filled with live roses. I thought to myself I deserve a rose today maybe it will make me feel better. So I bought one. As I walked out the door with my rose in hand there was a little old lady struggling to get her cart over the curb. I promptly set the rose down and helped her with her cart. She thanked me and I picked up my rose and headed to my car. I stopped half way, turned around, gave the old lady my rose and told her Happy Friday! The old lady started to cry and said Honey nobody has ever given me a rose before. She thanked me and told me I made her day. I was right. Buying that rose did make me feel better but giving that rose away made me feel absolutely WONDERFUL! I decided that day I that I had to experience that feeling at least once a week. Thus was born Happy FRIDAY and TAKE TIME TO SMELL THE ROSES BECAUSE LIFE IS FAR TO SHORT NOT TO! See I told you it was a short story. Now the reason I m writing this article. As Most of you know already our MOOSETTE Laurie Landry is going thru cancer. She has a long road in front of her. I thought with all my Moose brothers and sisters we could have a fund raiser in order to ease some of her financial burdens. I thought what better day to have it than December 15, 2017 my 20th year anniversary of taking time to smell the roses. It will be a full day of events. I hope you all will come out. If you have any Items that you would like to donate for baskets or silent auctions it would be greatly appreciated. If you could get these items to me by December 11th it will give me a little time to figure out how to use them. Sorry this article was soooo long but as I said in the beginning it s been a long time since last I wrote one. I LOVE YOU ALL with all my heart and remember to TAKE TIME TO SMELL THE ROSES BECAUSE LIFE IS FAR TOO SHORT NOT TO! With All My Love, Anita Hart Paris 5

Keep Sharing and Caring During Difficult Times By JAN FREGULIA/Executive Director, Moose Charitie Keep Sharing and Caring During Difficult Times A t this time, due to the catastrophes that have befallen our country and our neighboring countries, we need to understand how very precious life is and the importance of caring and sharing. Our Fraternity our family has come together to help those individuals who have suffered the loss of loved ones, their homes and to those who have been so tragically touched by hurricanes, earthquakes, and deadly shootings. Our Fraternity believes in the one for all, and all for one spirit. Our mission is, and will always be, to maintain the operations of the Mooseheart Child City & School and Moosehaven, our Fraternity s retirement community. And we ask that you keep this mission central in your thoughts at all times. God bless Mooseheart, Moosehaven and our Fraternity! Our mission is also to help our fellow man and this is said best in the following poem titled A Helping Hand by Ray Hansell: Make a difference Each day you live Open your heart Learn to give By JAN FREGULIA/Executive Director, Moose Charities Life for many Is so unkind Giving people Are hard to find So open your heart Give what you can We re all responsible For our fellow man It s so easy to look The other way But the tables could turn On any given day So help if you can For one day you maybe The one who s down and out The one no one will see. 7
