Alternate Titles Unconditional Election Sovereign Election Foreordination Predestination Sovereign Predestination Purpose Driven Predestination Sovereign Decree of Appointment

Election Defined Election is that eternal decree and act of God, which took place before the foundation of the world, by which, in His sovereign pleasure and on account of no foreseen merit in them, He chooses certain ones out of the number of sinful humanity, to be the recipients of special grace applied by His Spirit, and so to be made voluntary partakers of Christ s salvation, which was purchased by His blood.

Looked through the time tunnel. God P1. He examined every life for saving faith. P2. When He found saving faith, He said, that will be one of mine. I elect them. Conclusion: God ratified the sinners choice.

Ten Declarations Regarding Election 1) God declares to save particular individuals. 2) God declares that not everyone can see the Father or come to Christ. 3) God declares to foreknow the person not fore-learn their actions. 4) God declares His choice of individuals is an eternal grace.

Ten Declarations Regarding Election 5) God declares He has given a people to His Son. 6) God declares that He unites the believer to Christ solely by grace. 7) God declares the Lamb s Book of Life full before the foundation of the world. 8) God declares the elect to be recipients of a special calling.

Ten Declarations Regarding Election 9) God declares that regeneration is a product of His will not man s. 10) God declares that we love Him because He first loved us. Bonus: God declares that repentance, faith, holiness, and good works are His gifts to the elect.

Four Proofs That Must Be Rejected To Deny Election Proof Number One P1) What God does He has eternally purposed to do. P2) God bestows special regenerating grace on some. (Jn3:3f) P3) The Son does not reveal the Father to everyone, and the Father does not teach everyone about the Son. (Jn 6:37,44-45) Conclusion: There must have been an eternal purpose that is more important than simply saving as many as possible.

Four Proofs That Must Be Rejected To Deny Election Proof Number Two P1) God s purpose cannot be conditioned upon any merit or faith of those who are chosen. P2) Faith is neither a work nor a merit but a gift that grants trusting receptivity. (John 1:12, 15:16, Rom. 9:16, 21, Eph. 2:8-9) P3) Faith is an expression of and a response to election. Conclusion: Since faith is the expression of election, it cannot at the same time be the cause of election.

Four Proofs That Must Be Rejected To Deny Election Proof Number Three P1) The depravity of human will prevents lost mankind from independently and autonomously moving towards God. P2) Without this decree to bestow special divine grace upon some, all without exception would reject Christ after He was offered to them. P3) All without exception would perish apart from special divine grace. Conclusion: Election is an absolute consequent necessity of God s decree of objective redemption so that individual redemption would actually happen.

Four Proofs That Must Be Rejected To Deny Election Proof Number Four P1) If, as is supposed by some, God loves, draws, and bestows grace equally to all men. P2) Grace ends at the point where it is all up to the individual. Conclusion: Then it would be unalterably true in such a case, that the individual would have grounds of boasting in his choice. If God does not love, draw, and bestow grace equally, then His purposes are greater than just saving as many as possible.
