Brian is a member of Bethel United Methodist Church of Catawissa. Please warmly greet Brian, and thank him for sharing his talents with us this morning. This Wednesday, March 6, is Ash Wednesday This Wednesday, Christians observe Ash Wednesday and the first day of the Lenten season. At this time of year, we enter into a season of preparation, self-reflection, and repentance when we seek to literally turn around and realign our lives and focus toward God. It is a time to give up things as well as take on new life-giving practices helping us rid ourselves of distractions and our own selfish desires. By doing so, we seek to live and love as more faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. Enhance Your Lenten Journey... Time To Order Easter Flowers It s time to think about ordering flowers which will adorn the Wesley sanctuary on Easter morning. White Easter lilies and various colors of hyacinths and tulips will be the flowers of choice. Along with the traditional spring flowers, orders will be taken for Reiger begonias. Flowers can be ordered in honor of or in memory of a loved one. And, as is the Wesley tradition, orders will also be taken for plants to be placed at Geisinger House of Care in Danville. Forms for ordering Easter plants are included with this worship folder. Additional forms can be obtained from the desk in the Third Street narthex, the Donation Station in the Murray Avenue entryway, or on the Hospitality Table in the Market Street vestibule or stop at the church office any day during the week. Thank You! Thank you so very much for your generous support of the recent UMW Bake Sale held in conjunction with the Men of Wesley Spaghetti Dinner. Because of the variety and generosity of donated baked goods, along with your own purchases, the bake sale was a huge success. We couldn t have done it without you. With sincere appreciation, Mollie Harris, bake sale coordinator Attention all women... Be sure to mark your calendars for the March 14 UMW meeting. It will take place at 12 noon in the Coffee Café. Bring a bag lunch, and enjoy a time of fellowship prior to a short business meeting and the guest speaker, Scott Preisel from Columbia County Volunteers in Medicine.
