Thought assumed a nobler outlook, and his life became more spiritual. Conversion of Saul SH 9:1 2 1 Meekly our Master met the mockery of his unrecognized grandeur. SH 8:25 26 He unveiled the Christ, the spiritual idea of divine Love. SH 26:12 14 12 This Christ, or divinity of the man Jesus, was his divine nature, the godliness which animated him. Christ s demonstration SH 458:2 25 The Christianly scientific man reflects the divine law, thus becoming a law unto himself. He does violence to no man. Neither is he a false accuser. The panoply of wisdom SH 444:16 19 18 Let us be faithful in pointing the way through Christ, as we understand it, but let us also be careful always to judge righteous judgment, and never to condemn rashly. 9 We must learn that evil is the awful deception and unreality of existence. Evil is not supreme; good is not helpless; nor are the 12 so-called laws of matter primary, and the law of Spirit secondary. Subordination of evil SH 186:11 14 Evil is a negation, because it is the absence of truth. 12 It is nothing, because it is the absence of something. It is unreal, because it presupposes the absence of God, the omnipotent and omnipresent. SH 480: 25 The Evil negative and self-destructive The supposititious parent of evil is a lie. It can never destroy one iota of good. SH 225:25 28 27 The despotic tendencies, inherent in mortal mind and always germinating in new forms of tyranny, must be rooted out through the action of the divine Mind. Truth causes sin to betray itself, and sets upon 9 error the mark of the beast. SH 8:0 4 0 1 If a friend informs us of a fault, do we listen patiently to the rebuke and credit what is said? Do we not rather give thanks that we are not as other men? During many years the author has been most grateful for merited rebuke. The wrong lies in unmerited censure, in the falsehood which does no one any good. Searching the heart SH 45:16 17 Honesty Honesty is spiritual power. Dishonesty is human weakness, which forfeits divine help. Knowledge and honesty SH 449:7 11 The wrong done another reacts most heavily against one's self. Right adjusts the balance sooner or later. 9 Think it easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for you to benefit yourself by injuring others. Right adjusts the balance SH 464:2 The weapons of bigotry, ignorance, envy, fall before an honest heart. SH 2:15 20 In 15 In patient obedience to a patient God, let us labor to dissolve with the universal solvent of Love the adamant 18 of error, self-will, self-justification, and self-love, which wars against spirituality and is the law of sin and death. SH 18:2 Obedience to Truth gives man power and strength. SH 91:5 Let us rid ourselves of the belief that man is separated 6 from God, and obey only the divine Principle, Life and Love. Here is the great point of departure for all true spiritual growth. SH 4:17 22 18 21 Simply asking that we may love God will never make us love Him; but the longing to be better and holier, expressed in daily watchfulness and in striving to assimilate more of the divine character, will mould and fashion us anew, until we awake in His likeness. Watchfulness requisite SH 28:2 5 There is too much animal courage in society and not 1 sufficient moral courage. Christians must take up arms against error at home and abroad. They must grapple with sin in themselves and in others, and continue this warfare until they have finished their course. Christian warfare SH 162:9 9 The effect of this Science is to stir the human mind to a change of base, on which it may yield to the harmony of the divine Mind. This thought of human, material nothingness, which Science inculcates, enrages the carnal mind and is the 0 main cause of the carnal mind's antagonism. This causes them, even as drowning men, to make vigorous efforts to save themselves; and through Christ's precious love these efforts are crowned with success. Moral retrogression SH 495:20 Let Christian Science, 21 instead of corporeal sense, support your understanding of being, and this understanding will supplant error with Truth, replace mortality with immortality, and silence discord with harmony. SH 458:25 The The Christian Scientist wisely shapes his course, and is honest and consistent in following the leadings of divine 27 Mind.
