Sixth Sunday of Easter May 1, 2016 BINGO After a great 10 year run Saint Barnabas Bingo is discontinued. We were able to put $150,000 into the High School with its proceeds (that stream of money needs to be made up somehow). Kudos to our volunteers who worked hard at it week after week, year after year. They are a wonderful group of people. It would be impossible to have this fundraiser and social event with them. Throughout the region more and more Bingos are closing down due to a lack of turnout. We are very grateful to our customers who stayed with us. They loved to socialize at our parish and try their luck at prizes. We went from 80 customers to 40 customers. Unfortunately this number is way too small to run the enterprise. A Must Read The Joy Of Love! Amoris Laetitia in Latin is Pope Francis recent apostolic exhortation. It is brilliant for the daily living of love between persons, especially couples and family members. Any individual person can gain great insights into the ways any of us can love one another. He also focuses on married love as a gift for couples to lead wonderful lives. You can go on line and download it for free from www.theholysee Soon printed books will be available for purchase at the parish or catholic book stores. The parish has plans to have a book discussion club that will comprise of 3 meeting dates for all who read the book. Tithing & Stewardship Weekly Goal - $18,000 April 24 $13,105.63 Food For the Poor $8151.20 Thank you for your contributions The Second collection today will be our Energy Collection. Contributions in the envelope are set aside to help pay our church s higher energy and fuel costs. Second collection - Next Sunday, May 8 th, for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe. Please be as generous as your means will permit. PLEASE NOTE: The Mission Cooperative collection will be taken up on the weekend of June 3 rd /4 th. You will see 2 envelopes for that day in your packet. Please put the regular collection envelope and the energy envelope in the first passing of the basket.
