I Don t Like Being Around People The Psalms, especially 53, 84, 122 and 133 I was glad when they said to me, Let us go to the house of the Lord! (Psalm 122:1) But what if we aren t glad? This is the premise for our next series of messages concerning the reasons why people don t go to church, or even want to be associated with church. BACKGROUND OF OUR SCRIPTURES: The Psalms are Israel s Hymnbook Psalm 84: a song for those who wanted to go to worship God at the temple in Jerusalem. Psalms 120-134: songs to be sung while traveling to Jerusalem for sacrifice and worship. WHAT WE LEARN: People are problems (Psalm 53:2-3; 120:6) But it s not about people; it s about God and Jesus (Psalm 84) And the only hope for people is with God and Jesus (Psalm 133) THEREFORE: Church is worth the risk! 2016 Answering the Call
