Have a blessed week! St. Kateri Parish Prayer Line Ministry Due to unforeseen circumstances, I am asking for another member of our Parish to please take over the SKT Parish Prayer Line Ministry as I am not able to continue with it. There have been many very kind and caring people who helped me get it off the ground and I thank each and every one of you. People being prayed for are so very grateful and have let me know. Continued Blessings on them, Father Kevin and all of our Parish. I will continue to pray for all. Bless you all for caring and praying for others. Sincerely,Patricia Nugent As part of the Joy of the Family initiative, a specific theme featured in Amoris Laetitia ( The Joy of Love ) will be highlighted each month. A release will highlight the theme including opening and closing prayers, a reading, a passage from Amoris Laetitia, a contemplate section, intercessions, weekly suggestions for practical activities, and a reflection from an individual or individuals who possess a special personal connection to the monthly theme. For June 2018, the theme is the Joy of Being a Father. The monthly resources are available at: www.portlanddiocese.org/sites/default/files/files/ JoyFamilyJune2018.pdf. For a list of upcoming themes, visit www.portlanddiocese.org/ JoyFamilyMonthlyThemes. It is hoped developing these themes will help the faithful understand the teachings in Amoris Laetitia and inspire us all to integrate these teachings in our daily lives. A special Joy of the Family section is on the diocesan webpage www.portlanddiocese.org/joy-of-family. Do you know someone who is interested in exploring or learning more about the Catholic Faith? Children Sharing the Gospel One day one of your best friends may move away, and you won't see him every day. You can still stay close to your friend by talking on the phone, writing letters, or sending e mail messages. Jesus knew he would be leaving. He would not see his friends every day. Jesus promised to send his Spirit to them. When they were confused, the Spirit would show them the truth. When they missed him, Jesus would send them messages by the Holy Spirit. Through the Spirit, Jesus could always stay close to his friends. Prayer God, thank you for sending your Spirit so I can stay close to Jesus, too. Something to Draw Draw a picture of God's Spirit whispering in your ear. Mission for the Week Before you sit down to read a Bible story, ask God to send his Spirit to help you. When you listen carefully to God's word, the Spirit can send you a special message from Jesus!

St. Kateri Parish Goal for 2018 - $39,518.00 Parishioners of St. Kateri Parish have a long history of showing their commitment to the Diocese of Portland by supporting the Catholic Appeal. Many thanks to all parish families who have made a pledge to the 2018 Catholic Appeal. If you have not done so, please consider helping is meet our goal and give prayerful consideration to this important request from our Bishop. The Appeal funds the agencies and ministries that support thousands of our brothers and sisters in need across the state of Maine. For our area, many benefit directly from our generosity, especially as a parish and through those vital ministries that support our local people. We hope that you will respond generously. Thank you in advance for your participation in this vitally important initiative. The strength of the family lies in its capacity to love and to teach how to love. - Pope Francis Prayer for the Success of the 2018 Catholic Appeal Lord Jesus Christ, Your goodness is without measure. The gifts you bestow on me are countless. You continuously pour out your grace on me and those in my life. I am forever grateful. Strengthen your family of faith, Lord, so each person we encounter may feel your love through our actions. In all that we do, conform us always to your holy will. Through the intercession and example of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph, help us always to be as loving to others as they were to you. I make this prayer in your Holy Name. Amen.
