If you were unable to attend on one of those dates, I urge you to listen online or acquire one of the CDs. Saying that we are moving in the direction of our future vision does not mean that we are not presently living out God s vision for us in the here and now. It does not mean that what we are doing, or what we have done, is wrong. If a child s body stopped growing and developing we would be deeply concerned; and rightly so. Should our concern be any less when the body of Christ stops growing and developing? The church is continually called forward to serve God faithfully in each new season. As people come and go; as faith and learning grows; as the needs of the community change; God s vision for us adapts. Our faithfulness as a church comes through staying tuned into God s leading, so that we may serve with excellence. I have often heard folks say that they do not like change. Allow me to propose the idea that we struggle less with change, and more with poor transitions during the process of the changes. Many of us have embraced new stores, restaurants, online shopping, email, Facebook, smartphones, and so much more. Each of these has offered us something. And, while we may have resisted at first, many of them have become a part of most of our lives in some way. How did they get us? Answer; the companies spoke about the positive possibilities for us, and we embraced the possibility. I believe vision is the positive possibility of the church fully embracing and living out the perfect will of God for the people of God and the community in which they live and serve. Together, we will discern the future vision and begin living into it. My heart s desire is to honor God, and to lead our church, with excellent transitions, through the 1 changes the vision may point us toward.

Perhaps the most vital aspects of excellent transitions are transparency and clear communication. Hear this understanding as my commitment, and the commitment of our leadership team, to hold these to the highest standard as we journey forward together as the body of Christ here at Holly Calvary. Walking in Faith, Pastor Cliff ANNOUNCEMENTS Calvary Hall Coat Room Storage Pasty Sale The GIFT Circle will be having a pasty sale on Saturday, November 4 th! We are looking for people that would like to help for any amount of time in the following areas: Friday, Nov. 3 rd prep 12 pm - 6 pm Saturday, Nov. 4 th pasty-making 7 am - 4 pm Saturday, Nov. 4 th clean-up 3 pm - 5 pm Please contact Barb Casey at 248-634-7472 Pasties are $5 a piece again this year. Pick-up will be Saturday only. There will be no calling reminders on that day. If you do not pick up your pasties by 4 p.m., they will be sold to those on the waiting list. Please remember to bring a tray to pick up your pasties. Since we have converted half of the coat room into a food pantry to support that ministry, we no longer have the luxury of leaving items in the coat room for extended periods of time. Therefore, the Trustees are requesting that you do not leave anything longer than absolutely necessary there. If the room begins to look cluttered, we will move some or all of the offending items to the garage where they will be kept until the next rummage sale. So if you are missing something that you thought was left in the coat room, please check the garage. You can get a key from the office, or ask any of the trustees for help. Note that there are several jackets in the coat room that have been there since last spring, so if you are wondering where your jackets is, now that it is cooler, check the coat room.
