Day 1 For The Church The Universal Church, the Church in the USA, for our local Churches, our dioceses and parishes Christ wishes the Christian Community to be a body that is perfect because we work together towards a single end, and the higher the motive which actuates this collaboration the higher, no doubt, will be the union. Now the end in question is supremely exalted: the continuous sanctification of the Body for the glory of God and the Lamb that was slain. -Saint Katharine Drexel, foundress, second US-born canonized saint, minister to Native and African Americans. Pray for us. We pray that the Holy Spirit enlighten the Church to fulfill her mission, we pray to the Lord. For the Church of the United States, that we may be united in building a society in which everyone can have the opportunity to live with dignity and hope, we pray to the Lord. We pray for our Dioceses and parishes that we may work together for the sanctification of the world, we pray to the Lord. Prayer for the Day O God, who in your wonderful providence decreed that Christ s kingdom should be extended throughout the earth and that all should become partakers of his saving redemption, grant, we pray, that your Church may be the universal sacrament of salvation and that Christ may be revealed to all as the hope of the nations and their Savior. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. from the dioceses of the State of Florida: Archdiocese of Miami, Diocese of Orlando, Diocese of Palm Beach, Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee, Diocese of St. Petersburg, Diocese of St. Augustine, Diocese of Venice

Day 2 For Our Shepherds For our Holy Father Pope Francis, our Bishops, our Priests, and Deacons The world looks to the priest, because it looks to Jesus! No one can see Christ; but everyone sees the priest, and through him they wish to catch a glimpse of the Lord! Immense is the grandeur of the Lord! Immense is the grandeur and dignity of the priest! -Saint John Paul II, Pope of the New Evangelization. Pray for us. For our Holy Father Francis, that the Holy Spirit inspire Him to lead the Church to a closer encounter with Christ, we pray to the Lord. For our Bishops, that they may lead their dioceses in truth and grace, we pray to the Lord. For Priests and Deacons, may they be faithful witnesses of the love that the Lord has for each of us, we pray to the Lord. Prayer for the Day O God, who have taught the ministers of your Church to seek not to be served, but to serve their brothers and sisters, grant, we pray, that they may be effective in action, gentle in ministry, and constant in prayer. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. from the dioceses of the State of Alabama: Archdiocese of Mobile, Diocese of Birmingham

Day 3 For Men and Women in Religious Life For the men and women religious, consecrated to serve the Hispanic people of God For I trust that God will give me the strength to reach San Diego, as He has given me the strength to some so far. In case He does not, I will conform myself to His most holy will. Even though I should die on the way, I shall not turn back. They can bury me wherever they wish and I shall gladly be left among the pagans, if it be the will of God. - Saint Junipero Serra, Franciscan, Father of Evangelization in America, Father of the California missions. Pray for us. For those who have responded to the prompting of the Holy Spirit as a consecrated person that they may experience the support of the Church as they continue their growth in holiness, we pray to the Lord. We pray for those who are consecrated to God by the vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. May they always reveal the love of Christ to those they encounter and continue to enrich our world by their dedicated lives of prayer, we pray to the Lord. For those who are called to the consecrated life, may they be faithful witnesses of God s love, we pray to the Lord O God, who inspire and bring to fulfilment every good intention, direct your servants into the way of eternal salvation, and, as they have left all things to devote themselves entirely to you, grant that, following Christ and renouncing the things of this world, they may faithfully serve you and their neighbor in a spirit of poverty and in humility of heart. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. from the dioceses of the State of Georgia: Archdiocese of Atlanta, Diocese of Savannah

Day 4 For Hispanic Pastoral Ministry in the United States For all Lay Ecclesial Movements, for their leaders and volunteers When I see the need for Divine teaching and how hungry people are to hear it, I am atremble to be off and running throughout the world, preaching the word of God. I have no rest, my soul finds no other relief, than to rush about and preach. - Saint Antonio Maria Claret, Spanish missionary, bishop in Cuba. Pray for us. For those who have responded to the prompting of the Holy Spirit to be ministers in the Church that they may continue their growth in holiness, we pray to the Lord. For Pastoral Ministers who have dedicated their lives to spreading the Gospel message may they continue to respond to the Lord s will, we pray to the Lord. For members of Lay Ecclesial Movements, that they may continue opening themselves more each day to the graces of the Holy Spirit, and in doing so continue spreading the joy of the Gospel, we pray to the Lord. O God, who have sent the power of the Gospel like leaven into the world, grant that your faithful, whom you have called to live amid the world and its affairs, may be fervent with the Christian spirit and, through the tasks they carry out in this present age, may constantly build up your Kingdom. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. from the dioceses of the State of South Carolina: Diocese of Charleston

Day 5 For All families in the United States For grandparents, parents, children, for the domestic Church, especially the Hispanic Family Whatever you do for your family, your children, your husband, your wife, you do for God. All we do, our prayers, our work, our suffering, is for Jesus. -Saint Teresa of Calcutta, missionary, foundress, apostle of life and the family. Pray for us. For all mothers, that they may be supported by loved ones and friends, and that they may be understood and blessed, we pray to the Lord. For fathers, that through the intercession of Saint Joseph, they might assume the great responsibility which God has given to them, we pray to the Lord. For all members of the domestic Church, that we might rejoice together in the gift of love that is an expression of God s own communal love, we pray to the Lord. O God, in whose eternal design family life has its firm foundation, look with compassion on the prayers of your servants and grant that, following the example of the Holy Family of your Only Begotten Son in practicing the virtues of family life and in the bonds of charity, we may, in the joy of your house, delight one day in eternal rewards. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. from the dioceses of the State of North Carolina: Diocese of Charlotte, Diocese of Raleigh

Day 6 For Young People in the United States For our Hispanic Youth and Young Adults, for all university students Everyone who breathes, high and low, educated and ignorant, young and old, man and woman, has a mission, has a work. We are not sent into this world for nothing; we are not born at random; we are not here, that we may go to bed at night, and get up in the morning, toil for our bread, eat and drink, laugh and joke, sin when we have a mind, and reform when we are tired of sinning, rear a family and die. God sees every one of us; He creates every soul for a purpose. -Saint John Neumann, bishop of Philadelphia, founder of the Catholic diocesan school system in the United States. Pray for us. For young people, that they may always follow the will of the Father as they seek to achieve their goals and dreams, we pray to the Lord. For all students, that they may they seek to know the Truth, Jesus, at every moment in their studies, we pray to the Lord. For professors and mentors who shape the minds of young people, may they present the Truth with unwavering fervor so that their students may follow the will of the Father, we pray to the Lord. O God, who by the grace of the Holy Spirit have called young people with gifts of charity, grant health of mind and body to your servants, for whom we beseech your mercy, that they may love you with all their strength and, with all their love, do what is pleasing to you. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. from the dioceses of the State of Tennessee: Diocese of Knoxville, Diocese of Memphis, Diocese of Nashville

Day 7 For our migrant brothers and sisters For the poor, those unemployed, the sick and all who need our prayer Did a Magdalene, a Paul, a Constantine, an Augustine become mountains of ice after their conversion? Quite the contrary. We should never have had these prodigies of conversion and marvelous holiness if they had not changed the flames of human passion into volcanoes of immense love of God. - Saint Francis Xavier Cabrini, Italian-American Missionary, Patroness of Migrants. Pray for us. For those who are forced to leave their land, that they may always be welcomed with Christian charity, we pray to the Lord. For workers around the world, especially children who work long hours for little pay, may we all seek ways to promote fairness, justice, and dignity in their lives, we pray to the Lord. For the promotion of peace and development for all nations, and an end to war and violence, we pray to the Lord. O God, who gave one origin to all peoples and willed to gather from them one family for yourself, fill all hearts, we pray, with the fire of your love and kindle in them a desire for the just advancement of their neighbor, that, through the good things which you richly bestow upon all, each human person may be brought to perfection, every division may be removed, and equity and justice may be established in human society. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. from the dioceses of the State of Kentucky: Archdiocese of Louisville, Diocese of Covington, Diocese of Lexington, Diocese of Owensboro

Day 8 For those living in the peripheries of Church and society For those who have left the Church, those who are isolated, victims of violence and abuse If only mortals would learn how great it is to possess divine grace, how beautiful, how noble, how precious. How many riches it hides within itself, how many joys and delights! No one would complain about his cross or about troubles that may happen to him, if he would come to know the scales on which they are weighed when they are distributed to men. - St Rose of Lima, South American holy woman, known for a life of purity and penance, for caring for the poor. Pray for us. For healing and justice for all those on the peripheries, especially those who have experienced violence and racism, we pray to the Lord. For an end to the violence perpetrated by harsh words, deadly weapons, or cold indifference. May our homes, our nation, and countries around the world become havens of peace, we pray to the Lord. For solidarity in our global human family, may we work together to protect those who are most vulnerable and most in need, we pray to the Lord. Graciously hear the prayers of those who call upon you, we ask, O Lord, and forgive the sins of those who confess to you, granting us in your kindness both pardon and peace. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. from the dioceses of the State of Mississippi: Diocese of Biloxi, Diocese of Jackson

Day 9 For the pastoral fruits of the V National Encuentro For all baptized members of the Church, for all Missionary Disciples We need Catholics who are alert to the present moment modern Catholics who know how to nourish themselves in the past but whose eyes are fixed on the future. -Blessed Carlos Manuel Rodriguez, Puerto Rican lay evangelizer, first US lay man on the path to canonization. Pray for us. That those who are Baptized remember their Baptismal promises to be the light of the world at all moments, we pray to the Lord. For all members of the Church, that we may be Missionary Disciples witnessing to the joy of the Gospel with our eyes fixed on Christ, we pray to the Lord. For the process of the V Encuentro, that it may be a moment of growth, recommitment, and nourishment in the Church, not only in the United States but in the whole world, we pray to the Lord. O God, whose Son promised to all those gathered in his name that he would be there in their midst, grant, we pray, that we may be aware of his presence among us and, in truth and charity, experience in our hearts an abundance of grace, mercy and peace. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. from the dioceses of the State of Louisiana: Archdiocese of New Orleans, Diocese of Alexandria, Diocese of Baton Rouge, Diocese of Houma- Thibodaux, Diocese of Lafayette, Diocese of Lake Charles, Diocese of Shreveport
