Age-Related Ministries Adventurers Adventurers is a program for children in grades 1-4. The purpose of Adventurers is to support parents in leading and encouraging their children in a growing, joyful love relationship with Jesus Christ. Volunteers are needed to teach classes, be group leaders and help with organizational aspects of the club. Leader: Scott Parker scottanderika@gmail.com (909)790-1536 Co-Leader: Arlene Dos Santos (909)633-2997 Pathfinders Our Pathfinder club is an organization for young people from age 10 through high school to experience teamwork, have outdoor experiences, and learn new skills. Those in 8th grade and above are mentored in leadership skills. Pathfinders participate in local club events, as well as conference-wide camporees and fairs. Volunteers are needed to teach classes in a variety of skills, to be counselors for the various units, teach progressive classwork, and to help with club organization. In addition to singing for church services, they also participate in outreach activities by singing for community events. Parent volunteers can assist with helping the children be attentive during rehearsals and helping line up for performances. They can also provide snacks and coordinate communication with choir families. Leader: 2

In Betweeners Sometimes classified as empty nesters, this group of members meets as schedules permit for fellowship and social events. Volunteers needed to plan specific events. Special events are also part of the schedule. Volunteers are welcome to help plan specific events, coordinate potlucks, and to keep in touch with members. Sabbath Schools Volunteers are always welcome to assist with planning programs and playing the piano or guitar. Greeters are also needed to welcome children on Sabbath mornings and other volunteers could help plan special events. Nurture Ministries Calimesa Connections Newsletter Every other month, the church newsletter is published, providing an opportunity for members to learn more details about church activities and other members. Volunteers can join the team as a columnist, write feature articles, or provide information for the Did you know column. Volunteers can pay for flowers on special occasions or can purchase flowers from a local florist. Those who are artistically inclined could be part of the committee and help to arrange bouquets. Volunteers can help prepare food, or assist with set-up and/or clean-up. Hospitality/Potlucks The hospitality team coordinates a monthly potluck for church members and visitors. Volunteers can bring food and help with preparation and clean-up. Member Services often assists with gift cards, food, or paying utility bills in an emergency situation. Members can donate funds to this ministry, assist with collecting food, preparing food baskets during the holidays, and in various other ways. Volunteers can lead small study groups and help plan special events. Women s Retreat An annual retreat offers an opportunity for inspiration and renewal. Volunteers are needed for decorating, coordinating food, being table hosts and a variety of other tasks. 6

Outreach Ministries Blood Drive Calimesa sponsors a quarterly blood drive for Lifestream blood bank. Volunteers can help staff the blood drive and can donate blood. Leader: Jeanne Hildebrand Jeanne.hildebrand@gmail.com (909)796-5543 Community Services On a weekly basis, members meet to sort clothing and food to provide for those in need in our community. Volunteers can help on Monday mornings with sorting clothes. Leaders: Richard and Janice Meader (909)797-0453 Drama Ministry Annually, the church presents a major program for the community. The drama team also provides sketches for worship services. Volunteers may act or sing in the programs, provide logistical support and help with organizing. CarePortal Ministry This ministry allows us to partner with social workers in Riverside and San Bernardino county to help families in need in our community. Prayer and Squares This ministry provides quilts for members and friends who are going through crisis. Volunteers can make quilts and can pray for the quilt recipients. The group meets on Tuesday mornings. Leader: Laura Willes willeshannelore@gmail.com (909)795-0411 Roatan Mission Calimesa church has adopted two tiny communities on the island of Roatan in Honduras. Annual mission trips provide dental and medical care, as well as facility improvement for the villages. Volunteers are needed to provide medical and dental care, to teach Vacation Bible School and health classes and to do various construction projects. The Calimesa Community Concert series is in its 28th season of providing wonderful programs for our church family and the community. In addition, the church retreat weekend at Pine Springs Ranch is a highlight of the year. Volunteers can assist with ushering and baking cookies. A public relations coordinator is also needed. Thrive A series of 8 classes is offered during the year, providing the opportunity for improving the quality of life for our members and the community. Contact church office for futher information. Organizational/Structural Ministries The leaders of most of these ministries are selected by the nominating committee for two-year terms. Clerk The church clerk maintains membership records. Volunteers could help make communion bread.
