Chapel Offering Chapel Offerings for November and December go to the Love Project: Most of you know that Zion Lutheran Church and School began the Love Project many years ago. Our school contributes weekly items to help complete the Christmas Dinner Gift. All of the money collected at the weekly Chapel Offerings is used to purchase perishable items for the baskets. Our offerings help buy many turkeys and hams, so Thank You for your generous support and help with the Love Project! Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 11th. The Love Project Committee will once again ask Zion families to collect food items for those in need. These items will be packaged and delivered on Thursday, December 15th along with donated meats, fresh fruits, vegetables, and other various items. Last year we were able to help over a 100 families celebrate a Christmas we too often take for granted. Please consider this opportunity a privilege from God and support its success of sharing. By now you've all heard us speak of or have met the amazing Vallee family. Logan Vallee is one of my all-time favorite kids and I am always so impressed by how tough he is and his fighting spirit through all the obstacles life has thrown his way. Logan was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome when he was just a baby. Over the years, Logan has undergone 7 major open heart surgeries and too many minor surgeries to count. He has had multiple strokes due to cardiac events and has been in heart failure for a few years now. As you can imagine, the medical bills associated with this disease are astronomical. Logan is now 16 years old and a sophomore in high school! Something his mom and dad were told they d never get to see. On November 12th, we will be having our 6th Annual Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser and Silent Auction for Logan s Heart Foundation. Nate and I are selling as many tickets as we can to try to help alleviate some of the medical bills of the Vallee Family and other families with children affected by this terrible disease. The dinner is from 5-7:30pm at Zion Lutheran Church in Marengo. Tickets Cost are: $10 for an Adult and $5 dollars per child and take-outs are available. If you would like tickets, please let us know how many and we will gladly drop them off to you. We are also accepting donations. Checks can be made out to Logan's Heart Foundation and mailed to Stacy Skow, 22820 River Rd., Marengo, IL 60152. All donations are tax deductible. If you would like to know more about Logan's story, please visit his website at: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/loganvallee Or view this video Nate made about Logan for CHD awareness month: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwp6ieycsaq&feature=share&list=uudofazybzk_byl8hfzgtwq Thank you, Nate & Stacy Skow
