Bk Summary: Battlefield f the Mind (Warner Faith) by Jyce Meyer Number f Pages: 281 pages ISBN-13: 978-0446691093 Bk Finished: 27 Dec 2013 Nte: This is a very cncise paraphrased summary. Please supprt the authr and buy the bk. Prverbs 23:7: Fr as he [a persn] thinks in his heart, s is he. Our actins are a direct result f ur thughts. If we renew ur mind accrding t Gd s Wrd, we will, as Rmans 12:2 prmises, prve ut in ur experience the gd and acceptable and perfect will f Gd fr ur lives. Warfare is nt with ther human beings but with the devil and his demns. Fr we are nt wrestling with flesh and bld, but against the desptisms, against the pwers, against the wrld rules f this present darkness, against the spirit frces f wickedness in the heavenly sphere. EPHESIANS 6:12. Thrugh careful strategy and cunning deceit, Satan attempts t set up strnghlds in ur mind. A strnghld is an area in which we are held in bndage (in prisn) due t a certain way f thinking. Can t cntrl actins, because can t cntrl thughts, can t cntrl thughts because f strnghlds in the mind. Hw t have victry ver the lies f Satan The Bible: If yu abide in My wrd [hld fast t My teachings and live in accrdance with them], yu are truly My disciples. And Yu will knw the Truth, and the Truth will set yu free. (Jhn 8:31-32). Praise Prayer Yu cannt have a psitive life and a negative mind. Help frm the Hly Spirit/Gd One f yur weapns is prayer (asking). Yu can t vercme yur situatin by determinatin alne. We are assured and knw that all things wrk tgether and are fr gd t and fr thse wh lve Gd and are called accrding t [His] design and purpse. ROMANS 8:28. When yu pass thrugh the waters, I will be with yu, and thrugh the rivers, they will nt verwhelm yu. When yu walk thrugh the fire, yu will nt be burned r scrched, nr will the flame kindle upn yu. ISAIAH 43:2. It s easy t quit; it takes faith t g thrugh. Nt nly must we chse t think that we are ging t make it, but we must als decide nt t quit. Chse Yur Thughts Chse yur thughts carefully. By lking at a persn s attitude, ne can identify what kind f thinking is prevalent in that persn s life. A sweet, kind persn des nt have mean, vindictive thughts. Since yu can chse yur wn thughts, when dubt cmes yu shuld learn t recgnize it fr what it is, say, N, thank yu and keep n believing! Think abut what yu are thinking abut. Ask the Hly Spirit t cnvict yu each time yu start t get negative. That is part f His jb. Jhn 16:7-8 teaches us that the Hly Spirit will cnvict us f sin and cnvince us f righteusness. Discuragement destrys hpe, s naturally the devil always tries t discurage us. It shall be dne fr yu as yu have believed. MATTHEW 8:13 Our emtins must be balanced. That desn t mean tempering yur psitivism with a little negativism, but it des mean having a ready mind t deal with whatever happens t yu, whether it is psitive r negative. When dealing with everything tell yurself: I hpe..i am ging t ask and believe. But mre than anything, I want Gd s perfect will. If things dn t turn ut

the way I want t, I ll survive, because Jesus lives in me. It may be hard fr a while, but I trust the Lrd. I believe that in the end everything will wrk ut fr the best. Abraham: N unbelief r distrust made him waiver cncerning the prmise f Gd. ROMANS 4:18-20. Whatever happens, trust in the Lrd. Praying Truly I tell yu, whever says t this muntain, Be lifted up and thrwn int the sea! and des nt dubt at all in his heart but believes what he says will take place, it will be dne fr him. Fr this reasn I am telling yu, whatever yu ask fr in prayer, believe (trust and be cnfident) that it is granted t yu, and yu will [get it]. Instead f wndering what kind f grades Marc will get, I can believe that he will make gd grades. Rather than wndering what I shuld wear t the party, I can decide what t wear. Jesus did nt say wnder if yu will get it. He said, Whatever yu ask fr in prayer, believe that uu will receive it and yu will! Be careful fr nthing [be scared f nthing]; but in everything by prayer and supplicatin with thanksgiving let yur requests be made knwn unt Gd. Pray in Jesus name. By the pwer f His bld, cme against mind-binding spirits. James 1:2-8 teaches us that we can ask Gd fr wisdm in trials and He will give it t us and will shws us what t d. Difference between asking fr wisdm and asking fr special revelatin(s). Meditate n the Precepts f Gd I will meditate n Yur precepts and have respect t Yur ways [the paths f life marked ut by Yur law. PSALM 119:15. David spent a lt f time pndering and thinking n the ways f Gd, His instructins, and His teachings. Psalm 1:3 says that the persn wh des this shall be like a tree firmly planted by the streams f water, ready t bring frth its fruit in the seasn; its leaf als shall nt fade r wither; and everything he des shall prsper [and cme t maturity]. The mre time a persn spends meditating n the Wrd, the mre he will reap frm the Wrd. If we want t d what the Wrd f Gd says, we must spend time thinking abut it. Have yu heard the ld saying, Practice makes perfect? We really d nt expect t be experts at anything in life withut a lt f practice, s why wuld we expect Christianity t be different? Jyce Meyer had n revelatin that Satan culd inject thughts int her mind. The mind aids the spirit. The Hly Spirit desires t bring us t enlightment, but the mind ften misses what the spirit is attempting t reveal because it is t busy. The mind shuld nt be filled with reasning, wrry, anxiety, fear and the like. It shuld be calm, quiet, and serene. The enemy wants t verlad and verwrk yur mind by filling it with every kind f wrng thught s it cannt be free and available t the Hly Spirit wrking thrugh yur wn human spirit. And wh f yu by wrrying and being anxius can add ne unit f measure (cubit) t his stature r t the span f his life? MATTHEW 6:27. S d nt wrry r be anxius abut tmrrw, fr tmrrw will have wrries and anxieties f its wn. MATTHEW 6:34. Life is t be lived here and nw! Casting the whle f yur care [all yur anxieties, all yur wrries, all yur cncerns, nce and fr all] n Him, fr He cares fr yu affectinately and cares abut yu watchfully. 1 Peter 5:6-7. The mind shuld be kept peaceful. As the prphet Isaiah tells us, when the mind is stayed n the right things, it will be at rest.

Anther cnditin f the mind that is abnrmal is fr it t be wandering all ver the place. An inability t cncentrate indicates mental attack frm the devil. The devil will give up when he sees that yu are nt ging t give in. Make a decisin and mve n, stp mving back and frth dn t be the duble-minded man that the King James Versin refers t. The enemy frequently steals the will f Gd frm us due t reasning. When Gd speaks we are t mbilize nt ratinalize. Lean n, trust in, and be cnfident in the Lrd with all yur heart and mind and d nt rely n yur wn insight r understanding PROVERBS 3:5. Each time yu cnfess the Wrd, light cmes ut f yur muth like a wrd, and demns wuld cver and full backward. Grwing strng in faith Abraham kept praising and giving glry t Gd. The Bible says that as he did s, he grew strng in faith. Ask fr Wisdm If any f yu is deficient in wisdm, let him ask f the giving Gd [Wh gives] t everyne liberally and ungrudgingly, withut repraching r fault-finding, and it will be given him. Only it must be in faith that he asks with n wavering (n hesitating, n dubt). Fr the ne wh wavers (hesitates, dubts) is like the billwing surge ut at sea that is blwn hither and thither and tssed by the wind. Fr truly, let nt such a persn imagine that he will receive anything frm the Lrd. JAMES 1:5-7 Remember that unbelief leads t disbedience. Anxiety and wrry are bth attacks n the mind intended t distract us frm serving the Lrd. It is actually impssible t wrry and live in peace at the same time. Wrry is definitely an attack frm Satan upn the mind. Therefre I tell yu, stp being perpetually uneasy (anxius and wrried) abut yur life, what yu shall eat r what yu shall drink; r abut yur bdy, what yu shall put n. Is nt life greater than fd, and the bdy than clthing? MATTHEW 6:25. Our heavenly Father delights in giving His children gd things, but nly if we are nt seeking after them. We d nt knw what t d, but ur eyes are upn Yu. 2 Chrnicles 20:12. Jesus gives spiritual peace, and His rest is ne that perates in the midst f the strm nt in its absence. The time Gd gives us is a precius gift. Yur time is yur wn. Use it wisely, yu wn t pass this way again. Dn t wrry. Trust. Wise man: I already knw what I knw. I try t be quiet and listen s I can find ut what thers knw. High-minded attitude r thinking is extremely detestable t the Lrd. Trust Gd Cmpletely and Man Discretely But Jesus did nt trust Himself t them, because He knew all [men]. JOHN 2:23-25. Every time we get ut f balance, we pen a dr fr the devil. We can nly g s far in any human relatinship. If we g beynd wisdm, truble will brew, and we will be hurt. Always place yur ultimate trust in the Lrd. There is a true gift f the Spirit called the discerning f spirits (1 Cr. 12:10 KJV). Suspicin cmes ut f the unrenewed mind; discernment cmes ut f the renewed spirit. It is impssible t get frm wrng behaviur t right behaviur withut first changing thughts. Ask fr Gd s help Answer me speedily, O Lrd, fr my spirit fails; hide nt Yur face frm me, lest I becme like thse wh g dwn int the pit (the grave). PSALM 143:7. Remember that whatever is in yur heart will cme ut f yur muth. Many drs are pened t the enemy thrugh cmplaining. Meditate daily n all things yu have t be thankful fr. Rehearse them t the Lrd in prayer, and as yu d yu will find yur heart filling up with light and light.

Meditating n Gd s Wrd His Wrd is hw He thinks abut every situatin and subject. We will never put the Wrd int practice physically if we dn t first practice it mentally. Meditating the Wrd f Gd in ur mind will actually affect ur physical bdy. All day lng, ask the Hly Spirit t remind f certain Scriptures s yu can meditate n them. Set Yur Mind And Keep it Set And set yur minds and keep them set n what is abve (the higher things), nt n the things that are n the earth. COLOSSIANS 3:2. Get a new mind-set Believe that with Gd all things are pssible (Luke 18:27) With man sme things may be impssible, but we serve a Gd Wh created everything we see ut f nthing (Heb. 11:3). Keep yur eyes n where yu re ging and ff f where they have been. Mtivatin We must be mtivated frm within, nt frm withut. We must live ur lives befre Gd, knwing that He sees all and that ur reward will cme frm Him if we persist in ding what He asked us t d. Leave yur cmfrtable psitin and take n new respnsibility. When the Lrd asks His peple t d smething, there is a temptatin t wait fr a cnvenient seasn (Acts 24:25 KJV). There is always a tendency t hld back until it wn t cst us anything r be s difficult. s If yu nly d what is easy, yu will always remain weak. Gd has shwn Jyce Meyer that the enemy tries t inject this phrase int peple s minds t get them t give up. Gd instructed Jyce Meyer t stp saying hw hard everything was, assuring me that if I did, things wuld get easier. When things get hard, spend mre time with Him, lean mre n Him, and receive mre grace frm Him (Heb 4:16). Yu can be sure that anywhere Gd leads yu, He is able t keep yu. He never allws mre t cme n us than we can bear (1 Cr 10:13). Whatever He rders, He pays fr. Satan knws that if he can defeat us in ur mind, he can defat us in ur experience. That s why it is s imprtant that we nt lse heart, grw weary, and faint. I encurage yu t respnd t the ability that Gd has placed in yu by ding all that yu can with it, s that when the Master returns, yu can give Him nt nly what he has given yu, but mre besides. If yu wn a hme r a car r anything, Gd expects yu t take care f it. Lazy demns may attack yur mind and yur feelings, but yu have the mind f Christ. The Lrd t yu: Chris, why shuld I give yu anything else, if yu re nt thankful fr what yu already have? Why shuld I give yu smething else t cmplain abut? Waiting is part f life. The Scripture des nt say, Be patient if yu wait, it says, Be patient as yu wait. A humble persn will nt display an impatient attitude. Pride says. I m ready nw! Humility says, Gd knws best, and He will nt be late! A humble man waits patiently; he actually has a reverential fear f mving in the strength f his wn flesh.

When yu are tempted t becme frustrated and impatient Lrd, I want yur will in Yur timing. I d nt want t be ahead f Yu, nr d I want t be behind Yu. Help me, Father, t wait patiently n Yu! The enemy uses self-pity t keep us in bndage. Let G and Let Gd! D nt remember the frmer things; neither cnsider the things f ld. ISAIHA 43:18-19 Please nte that withut faith yu cannt please Gd. Beware f Jealusy and Envy Cmparing urselves and ur circumstances with thers is a wilderness mentality. A calm and undisturbed mind and heart are the life and health f the bdy, but envy, jealusy, and wrath are like rttenness f the bnes. PROVERBS 14:30. Avid Wrldly Cmpetitin Many wh are first will be last, and the last first (Mark 10:31). Rejice with thse wh are blessed (Luke 15:6, 9). Pray fr yur enemies, and bless thse wh mistreat yu (Matt. 5:44). The wrld wuld say this is flishness but Jesus says it is true pwer. Let us nt becme vainglrius and self-cnceited, cmpetitive and challenging and prvking and irritating t ne anther, envying and being jealus f ne anther. GALATIANS 5:26. Yu and I dn t need t play wrldly games t get ahead. Gd will give us favr with Him and with thers if we will d things His way. Prv. 3:3-4 KJV. Dn t be afraid t be hnest with Gd abut yur feelings. He knws hw yu feel anyway, s yu may as well talk t Him abut it. Gd, I pray fr t be blessed even mre. Cause him/her t prsper; bless him/her in every way. Lrd, I am praying this by faith in my spirit. I chse t d this Yur way whether I feel like it r nt. Bring every thught int captivity, int bedience f Jesus Christ. Obedience is the fundatin f all happiness. NBNB All has been heard; the end f the matter is: Fear Gd [revere and wrship Him, knwing that He is] and keep His cmmandments, fr this is the whle f man [the full riginal purpse f his creatin, the bject f Gd s prvidence (wisdm), the rt f character, the fundatin f all happiness, the adjustment t inharmnius circumstances and cnditins under the sun] and the whle [duty] f every man. Ecclesiastes 12:13.
