Friends of Cathedral Music 2015-2016

Welcome On behalf of the people of the Cathedral of St. John, and the Bishop and people of the Diocese of the Rio Grande, we welcome you to this, our 22nd season of concerts and special choral worship services at the Cathedral of St. John. The Friends of Cathedral Music series has long been a vital part of the Cathedral s outreach to the greater community. It is an offering to the people of our city and beyond. The Cathedral serves Albuquerque by opening its doors and inviting others to share in these musical gifts. People from all walks of life come from far and wide to experience the splendor of our musical events. Your presence among us enriches our lives. We anticipate great moments for concert-goers with the 22nd musical season at the Cathedral of St. John. We ve combined a memorable repertoire of classical music with exceptionally talented artists from across the globe. The 2015 2016 season includes concerts, special liturgical events and, throughout the season of Lent, musical meditations each Friday evening alongside a unique opportunity to support our Cathedral s Food Pantry. We invite you to join us: to take part, to share, to be touched by the Spirit that moves through music, to be nourished by that same Spirit, and be deepened in your relationship with each other and God through great music and talented musicians. You are welcome at the Cathedral of St. John and you honor us by your presence. 2015-2016 Season at a glance Friends of Cathedral Music : Special Liturgies : Fridays in Lent at 7 2015 S Sun 9/13 Breaking Brass O Sun 10/11 Choral Evensong Sun 10/18 Eugenio Maria Fagiani N Sun 11/8 Choral Evensong Wed 11/11 Air & Hammers Sun 11/29 Advent L & C D Sun 12/6 Santa Fe Opera Sun 12/13 PVNM Sun 12/20 Christmas L & C Thu 12/24 Christmas Eve Fri 12/25 Christmas Day Sun Sat 2016 J 1/10 Choral Evensong 1/23 Chanticleer F Wed 2/10 Ash Wednesday Fri 2/12 Fredrickson/Zalkind Fri 2/19 Duquesa Piano Trio Fri 2/26 Kevin Vigneau M Fri 3/4 Bach Cello Suites Fri 3/11 AYSP Chamber Music Sun 3/13 Choral Evensong Fri 3/18 PVNM Sun 3/20 Palm Sunday Wed 3/23 Tenebrae Thu 3/24 Maundy Thursday Fri 3/25 Good Friday Sat 3/26 Holy Saturday Sun 3/27 Easter Day A Sun 4/10 Robyn Helzner Trio M Sun 5/8 Commission Premiere Sun 5/22 Cathedral Choirs Sun 5/29 Chenault Organ Duo The Very Rev.
