Since September, our Council has received a total of $7,000 from the Blanco Bingo organization great gifts from such a good fun organization for our families.

ENTERTAINMENT AT THE DECEMBER COUNCIL MEMBERS MEETING Jonathan Bassett, one of our Knights that is illustrated below, sang and played on his guitar a most wonderful song that he had written just a few weeks ago. The song titled I Pray, was very heartwarming and expressive of our beliefs and the love of Jesus Christ. The artist who perfected this picture of Jonathon while he was singing and playing his guitar is our astounding brother Knight Tex Liedtka. Lyle Bird Introduced Jonathan as his new discovery of musical talent that he wanted us to experience. We usually see Jonathan as great Lector for the 10 am St. Mark Masses and now we hope to see him more often for the talent he portrayed for us at our December General meeting. Jonathon Basset A NEW KNIGHT HAS JOINED OUR COUNCIL We are most pleased to have received Michael Bauer (son of our Knight Dr. Steve Bauer) as a new member of our Council. Actually, Michael is not a new member because he has been one of our Councils active SQUIRES that has now been indicted as a Knight of First Degree. Shown below is Michael receiving his First Degree certificate during our December meeting. Let us all give Michael a warm welcome to our meetings and involve them in our activities as friends and brothers. Michael Bauer - Inducted as Knight of first Degree

AWARDS IN RECOGNITION OF SERVICES RENDERED During the December Council meeting, those shown in the photograph below were acknowledged and awarded certificates of appreciation for some their outstanding services. Following is a brief list of such services rendered: KC Entertainment Vergs Rivera KC Newsletter Editor AC Rogers November Knight of the Month Dr. John Green Family of the Month Mr. & Mrs Perez (Miguel & Iris) Inducted as Knight of 1 st Degree Michael Bauer (hiding behind his awarded certificate) Vergs Rivera, AC Rogers, Dr. John Green, Miguel Suarez Perez & Michael Bauer NEW EXEMPLIFICATION SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 30, 2016 - OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP - NEW BRAUNFELS This is another great opportunity for all Major Degree Knights ready to advance to their 4 th Degree. The Texas Second District of Our Lady of Guadalupe Province has scheduled the 4 th Degree Exemplification for January 30, 2016 in New Braunfels. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Joe A Rodriguez (joerod2929@yahoo.com) or Lawrence Zoller of our Council (lzoller@satx.rr.com). Form 4 needs to be filled out and signed by our Assembly Officers in time for it to be received by the Master of the District no later than January 22. It is suggested that those of you that wish to go for your 4 th Degree that you submit a filled out copy of Form 4 for our council s approval by January 13. To receive information regarding the exemplification process and a copy of Form 4, contact Lawrence Zoller.

LIFE AWARNESS SCHOLARSHIP DONATION During the December meeting, the Council authorized a donation of $210 to the Archdiocese Vocation Office in support of the Awareness Retreat (January 15-17). This amount will cover 3 scholarships for participants in the retreat. Pictured below are those receiving the donation at the December meeting. Sister Ana Cecilia Montalvo, Msps, Ana Bojorquez (Administrative Assistant), SK Tony Morgan, Rev. Alex Pereida (Vocations Director) and Sister Jane Mary Gawlik (Asst. Vocations Director) BLOOD DRIVE The Council sponsored a blood drive December 13 th in Christopher Hall. There were 51 people who signed up to give and 43 were medically cleared to do so. The next blood drive will be on February 28 th. We will have a contest with a prize to see which Knight can recruit the most people to donate. Dr. John Green is the Blood Drive Chairman for the forthcoming Blood Drives with the December 13, 2015 blood drive being the first one on his agenda. Seen with Dr. Green in the following picture is SK Leo Whitley and SK Roger Mays.

SK Leo Whitley, SK Roger Mays, & SK Dr. John Green The following pictures are of 3 of the 7 Knights that provided a blood donation. Ysau Flores Deacon Steve Gary Richmond THE KNIGHT S COUNCIL CHRISTMAS PARTY ON DEC 5 As shown by the first two pictures below, much was done to get Christopher Hall ready for our Christmas party. We give thanks to Gary Richmond, Tex Liedtka, Al Gill, Nick Young, Leo & Marian Whitley, Arnold Sanchez, Hilario Lopez, Ysau & Marylou Flores, and Jesse Mora that did all of the work in bring such a beautiful place for us this Christmas. The next four pictures show that we had a very good turnout with a lot of happy families sharing their good time with each other. Then came Ysau Flores as the master of ceremony (the 7 th picture) introducing the violinists Annie Archer, Alyssa Pena, & Robit Blachandalar from Johnson High School who entertained us throughout the party with some very soothing music. Ysau s wife Marylou, shown in the 7 th picture, served as the Bingo master in which we all played to receive a number of prizes such as meal tickets to a number of restaurants and other items of value. She really amused us with her way of pointing out from the large screen projection what we needed to mark on our Bingo cards. This was a very enjoyable and fun experience.

The last two pictures show Santa (Jon Klauenberg) as he visits each table asking each lady what she wanted for Christmas. AC s wife, Barbara Lynn Rogers, said that she wanted a new car. I guess it was not unusual that all the ladies at the table told Santa that they too wanted a new car for Christmas. However, the ladies tended to frown when they heard AC telling Barbara that he would get her a new car for Christmas at the nearest toy store. Deliveries of wheelchairs from three San Antonio parishes (Holy Trinity, St Francis of Assisi and, St. Mark's) were made to four of the Christus Santa Rosa hospitals (CSRH) in San Antonio and New Braunfels by Knights of Columbus members from the three Councils. Thanks to the leadership of Sam Szalwinski, we were able to empty the 18 wheeler trailer that was filled with nearly 300 wheelchairs and get them transported on schedule. An official blessing ceremony for the donated wheelchairs took place at the CSRH Children s hospital on December 10. Archbishop Gustavo conducted the blessing. Following are photographs of the cerimonies and some of the wheelchair receipants at the CSRH Westhover Hills Facility, New Braunsfels Facility, and the Downtown Children s Hospital.
