Margaret What do you think? All mortals live one earthly life and are eventually home. But before that calling how do we live every day? Peanuts said we live but once, is he really wrong? A dog corrected him, but is the dog correct? Or are both correct but the rhetoric is basically the same? The Editor interjects: Is it how we live before that calling? The HOW is not in the conversation between Peanuts and the Dog. That conclusion seems to make the conversation in this comic strip rather superficial...yet again there is a bunch of truth in the superficial...or is your Editor chasing a philosophical vapor? Whatever...you figure it out...don t get too serious! One

The Mission at San Clemente Marine Corps Support Group is to remind Americans of the level of sacrifice that 1% makes for the rest of us. The military community is not composed of strangers, but the children of our Nation. This is our Third year in this Patriotic campaign. We are partnering with the San Clemente Marine Corps Group (501c) to raise money to send additional approved Military Socks to deployed troops. Why Socks? The Infantry spends all of their time on their feet. Laundry facilities are not always available, field washing is not always possible and does not get the socks 100 % clean. Imagine the irritation! Their socks only last three days even with washing. WE ARE NOT COLLECTING SOCKS, RATHER, WE ARE ASKING FOR DONATIONS! You do not need be a 4th Degree to donate. This project is open to all, men, women, teens, young adults, Knights and their families regardless of Degree. Would you help support this Cardinal Gibbons Assembly project with a donation of $6.00? We cannot accept socks because they must meet GAO standards. Make checks payable to: CARDINAL GIBBONS ASSEMBLY, C/O HOLY FAMILY CHURCH. 15 GENDER ROAD, NEWARK, DE, 19713. We will be collecting until the end of March. Thank You for your assistance. God Bless our Troops! Two

BOOKS FOR VETERANS "Books for the Veterans at the VA," is a new initiative by the VA, and supported by the Knights of Columbus, trying to break the boredom at the VA hospital in Elsmere. This Initiative is an opportunity to get rid of reading books and give them to the Volunteer Services Department at the VA Hospital. The donated books are then placed on bookshelves or taken room by room to the Veteran's free of charge! It is a new mission, a new program. It is a mission by the Volunteer Services Department to break the boredom in the Hospital, break the boredom of Hurry Up and Wait. Patients and their families arrive at the hospital for various testing and meetings or interviews and arrive early just to wait. This is a great opportunity to donate, clear the shelves of books in your home, garage, attic, basement and donate to the VA hospital for the patients, veterans and their families. The Initiative will put books in the hands of Veterans and family while they are in the hospital waiting for service by any department. What is required? You clear the bookshelves in the home, check the basement and garage for books and take the reading materials to the VA Hospital in Elsmere.. Just take the books to room 189, right by the Chapel on the lower floor. Enter via the West Wing near Valet Parking. This initiative supporting veterans and the VA does not cost the individual or group. The only associated cost would be the cost of gas and the value of personal time gathering and taking the books to the VA in Elsmere. If you are donating the books as a member of or in the name of the Knights, please request and fill out an, "IN KIND," form. (room 189) -Any questions, contact Mike Handlin. TAKEN FROM A SECULAR NOVEL.Finding an empty chair near the back, he sat down. Within a couple of minutes, a young man who didn t look a day over twenty five began leading the group in a few praise songs. He ended with Curly s favorite, I stand in Awe of You. When he left the stage without a word, a middle-age man limped out to the podium. He legs were twisted, and he struggled even with a walker. I m Howard Danby, and I m here to tell you that I m fearfully and wonderfully made. Some of you may want to laugh at that statement, but let me assure you, it s not a laughing matter. The doctor said, birth defects. My mother said, There s nothing defective about my child. He s exactly the way God designed him. The Bible says God knit me together in my mother s womb. Now I ask you, does God make mistakes? I think not. The psalmist said God s workmanship is marvelous, that I m wonderfully complex. How many of you think I look marvelous? Complex, maybe. Wonderful, never. But I m here to tell you, as my dear sweet mama said, there is no mistake or defect about me. I stand before you exactly how God designed me. Do I have the right to argue with my Maker? I think not. He tells me to be content, joy filled, and not grumble or complain. So what are my options? I could sin by not accepting this body, or thank God for it. I opted for acceptance and even appreciation. What about you, my friend? Are you willing to accept yourself, just as you are, and offer yourself back to God for His love and for His glory? EDITOR S COMMENT REGARDING THE ABOVE TAKEN FROM A SECULAR PAPERBACK NOVEL AND I CANNOT APPOLIGIZE FOR OR SOFTEN MY COMMENTS There seems to be a movement initiated by elected government officials to promote ANTI HUMAN LIFE LAWS. The news, both FAKE and FACTUAL attest to this. Basically, these politicians cannot recognize that life within a womb is HUMAN aside being recognized outside the womb with a paper certification. The word birth has a synonym, and that is relocation..from inside to outside. These learned politicians have declared the term fetus does not mean human.so.what is the fetus 5 minutes prior to relocation? No scientist argues against the fact that the human DNA exists within the embryo. And.from that time forth to birth/ Relocation.is what??? Adolf Hitler and his ilk maintained a program to eliminate non-pure/non Arians, and those born with defects both mental and physical. In this USA, there are those wielding power and elected by like minds, who propose to allow children to be born, have a meeting, form a consensus and then make a decision to allow the child to live or kill the child. What is the difference between the NAZI policy and theirs?? This issue conflicts with the Commandments, morality, and decency..not just Christianity, although Christianity itself is not PRO-DEATH. Reproductive Rights & Choice, Medical Care, Pro-Choice.define these terms...examine them..real Christians and Jews are the only ones that can make intelligent decisions. The child, whose fate lies with others, cannot object to his or her impending death.mothers-to-be and fathers do not ask the innocent. A delivering mother requires medical care. Abortion, A.K.A., murder is not medical care. Reproductive Rights seems to be assigned to others who claim the right to kill. Pro-Choice is a political umbrella term, live and let live or ABORT! The government pays for abortions in most instances. Cannot the government divert funds to adoption and foster care groups that care for mothers who cannot conceive yet desire children??? Where is the morality here?? ON DEMAND.sounds like a TV remote setting. Now that term is assigned to Abortion Rights, push a button, write a check, get welfare.or what ever.just eliminate my baby.but just don t show me an ultrasound moving picture of my child inside of me. I just might want to give birth and keep and love God s Creation!! SHALOM Eight

LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS There is no mission more noble than serving Veterans and their families. At the Wilmington Veterans Affairs Medical Center, we constantly strive to improve the way we do our job - we need the help of Volunteers in order to succeed. Volunteers provide many important functions throughout the medical center. Volunteers can perform a number of services where talents are closely matched with one of our many assignments. When registering to be a Volunteer, we ask for a commitment of 100 hours the first year. The suggested minimum volunteer time is only 4 hours per week. To learn more about Volunteering at the VA, go to www.wilmington.va.gov/giving/index.asp To register as a Volunteer, fill out VA Form 10-7055 Application for Voluntary Service and click on the "Submit by E-mail" button to send it directly to our Voluntary Service by mail at Voluntary Services, c/w Wilmington VA Medical Center, 1601 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19805. We will be happy to receive your application and discuss how you can help us in our mission to provide comfort and care to America's Veterans. VA Volunteers If you never have guided the wheelchair Have you paced with the wife of a Veteran and discussed the time of day? Tried diverting her mind for a moment As her husband passed away? Have you offered a shoulder to lean-on, And a Kleenex for a tear? It's all part of the life that's lived daily By the VA Volunteer. Of a patient down the hall, Helped a man who has given his country Of his love, his health, his all - If you never have sat with the ailing, Seen their pain and sensed their fear, Then you cannot share in the feelings Of the VA Volunteer. Sympathetically listening to memories Of a patient racked with pain; With a smile, cheerful word, and a handshake, That evokes, "Please come again." If a patient has said, "Thank you kindly," It was music to the ear And the greatest payment in this world Of the VA Volunteer. If each one of us walked down those hallways With the volunteer one day. If each one gave a thought to the Veterans And the price they've had to pay, Then our blessing we'd know to be countless, And we'd spend succeeding years Giving thanks unto God our Creator For those faithful volunteers.by Wicker Nigh...MSA Volunteer Nine
