3977 CALL TO THE REV, DONALD MCCALLUM FROM KNOX LISTOWEL: K. Vandermey/L. Ashfield moved that the representatives from The Presbytery of Huron-Perth be invited to sit and correspond. CARRIED. TERMS OF THE CALL: Knox Listowel has been vacant for three years since the departure of the Reverend M. Davidson. A 15 member Search Committee was formed and then the Reverend I. Johnston was installed as an Interim Minister for a period of nearly two years. There had been an expression of interest in the vacancy by Reverend McCallum early in the search but it was only after a diligent search that the Search Committee decided to proceed with an invitation to Reverend McCallum to preach for the call. As the call document indicates the numbers supporting the call is very strong. Reasons for Translation The congregation of the Pastoral Charge of, Listowel believe that God is calling the Reverend Donald P. J. McCollum to be the Minister of Word and Sacraments among them for the following reasons. Rev. McCallum possesses: 1. The desired gifts for preaching and teaching 2. A deep desire to preserve the congregation s worship traditions while guiding the charge required to welcome younger generations. 3. The abilities to care for and relate to the concerns of daily life to the congregation 4. The desire to reach out into the community in the Name of Jesus, the Christ; 5. A Strong desire to discern God s will for the congregation s future in cooperation with the Session; 6. The ability to assist and guide existing groups within the church to help them realize their God-given potential; 7. A keen interest in the continued development of his personal faith and study of theology; 8. And, a history of successful ministry that will enable him to deal with the physical and spiritual needs of a multifaceted congregation. Guarantee to Presbytery for Minister's Stipend We the congregation of, Listowel, hereby present to the Presbytery of Huron-Perth, of The Presbyterian Church in Canada, that the estimated annual revenue of the said congregation of Knox for the maintenance of religious ordinance among ourselves is three hundred and seventy nine thousand, six hundred and thirty five dollars ($379,635.00).

3978 We hereby agree to pay out of the said revenue, as it shall be collected, and as first charge thereon, to the Rev. Donald P. J. McCallum the annual stipend of fifty two thousand dollars ($52,000.00) which amount is inclusive of annual car or travel allowance, and to provide thirteen thousand dollars, ($13,000.00) annually for housing allowance, plus the cost of utilities. We agree to make payments of the above amounts half-monthly, and we undertake to review the stipend and allowances annually in consideration of any changes in the cost of living or in the needs of our minister. We further engage to use our utmost diligence to the end that The Rev. Donald P. J. McCallum may regularly receive the stipend and allowance herein named. We agree further: 1) to give two weeks study leave annually, and to provide $1,000.00 allowance, as set by the Presbytery of Huron Perth. 2) that the benefits of number 1 above shall be cumulative up to five years. 3) to give five weeks paid holidays annually. 4) to pay pulpit supply during the periods of study leave and holidays. 5) in case of disability or extended illness, to continue to provide stipend, housing allowance, utilities, and other allowances, for a period not less than that set by the General Assembly, and to pay the cost of pulpit supply. In addition, we will pay the necessary moving expenses to settle the Rev. Donald P. J. McCallum as minister in this congregation. We further agree to provide up to $1,000.00 for the Pastor's expense fund for receipted expenses such as, books, cell phone, internet service, parking, and such expenses as the Session of Knox Church Listowel, may approve. It was also indicated that of 770 professing members 631 had subscribed to the call and 69 requested an elder to subscribe to same. J. Zaryski/K. Vandermey moved that the Call to The Rev. Doanld McCallum be received and considered. CARRIED. M. Gedcke/K. Vandermey moved that the representatives of Listowel and Kortright Presbyterian Church Guelph be heard. CARRIED. Don Vickers from Kortright Church Guelph spoke first commenting on how Pastor Don will be missed. He had brought a good fellowship and new groups to the congregation. The speakers from Knox Listowel were Earl Mayes, Chair of the Search Committee, stating some of the process but also how excited they were to have Pastor Don in their midst and the Interim Moderator, The Rev. Jim Stewart. He was very pleased with the decision. B. Ashfield/A. Sutherland moved that the Call be sustained as a Regular Gospel Call and placed in the hands of The Rev. Donald McCallum. CARRIED.

3979 The Clerk, Janet MacDowell, placed the Call in the hands of The Rev. McCallum and The Moderator also congratulated him.
