FIFTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME ALTAR GIFTS OF BREAD AND WINE THIS WEEK OFFERED FOR MARY ELLEN YEAGER JULY 15, 2018 First Reading: Amos 7:12-15 Amaziah (priest of Bethel) ordered Amos to leave Bethel and never prophesy there again. Amos replied that he had not been a prophet, but was a shepherd until he was called by God. Second Reading: Ephesians 1:3-14 or 1:3-10 Paul exults God s immeasurable generosity as he recounts all the blessings that have been bestowed upon all God s people. We all became adopted children of God when we heard the message of truth Christ brought to us, and because of it, believed in him. Gospel: Mark 6:7-13 Jesus gave the twelve disciples authority over unclean spirits and sent them out to preach and heal the sick. He advised them to bring nothing with them and to shake the dust from their feet of any town where they had not been welcomed. Jesus wanted them to understand what they would need to do in his place after his death. ***************************************************** HERE S WHAT S COMING UP THIS WEEK JULY 16TH - 22ND MONDAY-7/16 - Our Lady of Mt. Any questions or if you cannot make the signup night contact Kieran McCormack at kemack392@gmail.com RENEW AND REBUILD UPDATE There can be no doubt that after this past week of 90+ temperatures, all of us are eternally grateful for the recently completed air conditioning system which was made possible because of the generosity of all those who contributed to our Renew & Rebuild Campaign. Our next project will be the complete refurbishing and repaving of our entire parking lot and driveway areas. Engineers have already been analyzing our site plans and doing on site visits in preparation for this enormous undertaking. When the scope of the project is clearly identified, we will, once again,

invite three contractors to offer their bids for the project. As before, we will have the ongoing support of the consultant from the ARAMACK Company which is the official contracting consultant to large capital projects. The actual work will be done in the fall. Meanwhile, I have arranged for some necessary patching to be done where potholes have developed. You can tell by the alligatoring cracks and over one hundred patches where the structurally vulnerable areas are around the property. As always, we are very grateful to all who continue to send in their payments to the Renew & Rebuild office. If you ever experience any difficulties with your payment plan, please give us a call at the parish office and we ll be glad to help you out. We are also very grateful for the new pledges which still comes our way every once in a while. CARDINAL S ANNUAL STEWARDSHIP APPEAL UPDATE This year s Appeal is now entering the final phase of solicitation. Our assigned parish goal this year is $85,000.00. To date, we have received a total of $59,208.01 in pledges and gifts from 232 households and individuals. That s 71% of our goal to date. Your financial sacrifice is what funds the vital work of the archdiocese with Catholic Charities, Catholic Schools, Religious Education programs for our public school children, seminary training for our future priests, dignified retirement for our aged priests and religious and so many more programs which help all of us to respond to Christ who is present in our brothers and sisters around the archdiocese.
