HOLY CROSS APRIL 2015 NEWSLETTER The Lord is my strength and my salvation. Psalm 118:14 Spring time Prayer For the cycle of life which brings death and rebirth, we rejoice in the promise of Spring. For longer days and sunlight s warmth, we rejoice in the promise of Spring. For all creation and the majesty of its Creator, we rejoice in the promise of Spring. Amen. INSIDE THIS ISSUE: PRINCIPAL MESSAGE Wow April 1 already! Time flies by when you are having a great time! We are so proud of the students hard work and dedication to learning-way to go Holy Cross! We are equally proud of our Junior High students and their hard work to their learning. We are pleased with the students on the Junior High Honor Roll and Plus Five Club. We are continually asking for parental support and involvement; the greatest gifts you can give your child are your love, attention and educational support. Ask them what they learned in school (ask about specific subjects-science, Social Studies, Lang Arts, Math), ask them if they have homework, read with them and ask them questions about what was read. Junior High parents can look on PowerSchool and see what assignments your child handed in and what they achieved on assignments, quizzes, etc. With the warmer weather please send your child with an extra change of clothes and socks as well as splash pants and rubber boots. We encourage all students to stay out of the puddles at recess times but it is hard when there is so much water right now. Please check out our School Website: holycross@gpcsd.ca, we are adding information and pictures on a regular basis and it is an excellent communication tool for our school community. On behalf of the students and staff I would like to wish you and your family a blessed and joyful Easter. Have a fabulous restful break. In Christ, Caroline Richards OUTSTANDING SCH FEES SCHOOL COUNCIL 2 2 Moving or Transferring School? PAGE 3 FAITH INFORMATION Article #8 April 2015 that nothing we can do can ever God s Dream: to be His Disciple The gift of the resurrection in our lives reminds us that nothing is impossible for God to forgive, heal, restore and make whole again. Jesus love for us is so powerful and so strong separate us from him. Easter is our reminder that the greatest gift in our life is God s overwhelming love for his people. However somewhat different from other types of gifts is that God s gift of love for us is meant to be shared and lived out. God s dream for his love is that it would invite us to become his follower and disciple and that our discipleship would invite others to do the same. How much has God s love affected your life? How much does our life reflect one who is a follower of Christ? May we each take time this month to appreciate the depth of Christ s love for us and then to consider how we can share that love effectively with those around us. Being a disciple is both challenging and rewarding, it means our life has changed. Are we willing to be the kind of disciple who changes the lives of others? Jesus did, why not us!
