Will you make a special effort to ask the Lord for more vocations to priesthood and religious life? *Pray for the priest who have ministered to you throughout your life both living and dead. *Keep our parish priests in you prayers throughout the week *Encourage your children, grandchildren, or other young people to consider a vocation as a priest or religious brother or sister. *Pray a rosary for more young men and women in our diocese to respond to God s call Join The Invisible Monastery Pledge to pray for vocations at the Invisible Monastery website, invisblemonastery.com. It was inspired by a Vatican document urging Catholics to Organize an invisible monastery in which many persons, day and night, are committed to continuous prayer for priestly vocations. Congratulations to Jordan Armbrust who will be baptized this weekend at Divine Mercy. He is the son of Jason Armbrust and Christina Rutkowky. He was born on Dec 29, 2014. Congratulations to Jordan Guse and Emily Fisch who will celebrate the sacrament of marriage at Divine Mercy Parish on Saturday, May 2. On April 22 nd at 1:00 P.M. we are going to stuff mailings to be sent to all of our parishioners with information on the Picnic as well Raffle Ticket request forms. If anyone would like to volunteer for this project, we will order a lunch for you and have it ready following the 12:10 Mass. Please let me know if you think you can make it. Page 5 THROUGH SCRIPTURE WE KNOW GOD CALLS US TO SERVE OTHERS. WE ARE A PARISH COMMUNITY COMMITTED TO HELPING THOSE IN NEED. Eucharistic Outreach / Divine Mercy Table / Social Concerns Committee / Food Pantry Support / Blood Drive / Holiday Donations / Souper Bowl of Caring Coordinating Team Members: Mike Abdalla, Marguerite Coyle, Joanne Corbett, Cathy Genovese, Rose Marie Kloss, Sr. Janet Jeffers, Bill Drazdowski, and Michele Manzo Mother s Day Sunday, May 10, is Mother s Day. Nine Masses will be offered for the mothers remembered on the altar. You should have received an envelope in the mail for this purpose. There are also envelopes and greeting cards available on the table in the center vestibule of the Church. This is a fine way to honor your mother as we celebrate Mother s Day 2015. The Greatest Gift Do you have a family member or neighbor who cannot leave their home to attend Mass and receive the Blessed Sacrament? Our Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are here to serve your loved ones by bringing them the gift of Christ Himself, the greatest gift that can be given. If you know of someone we should be serving, please contact Vince Klingler at 570-205-5716 or Vince_K_Moosic@live.com for arrangements. How do I know if I should consider Parish Council? Can you make decisions that are guided by a firm faith filled hand that is open to the Holy Spirit? Then you are a discerner. Can you reflect on the Gospel so that God s ministry is part of your parish life? Then you are prayerful. Can you listen to your fellow parishioners and present ideas that mold the future of the parish? Then you are a serving representative. Can you work well with others? Then you are collaborative. Can you resolve conflicts? Can you strengthen parish relationships and celebrate the peace of Christ? Then you are pastoral. Everyone in our parish has gifts Please prayerfully consider the above questions. If your gifts match the skills above or if you know someone with these skills, please consider offering your name or theirs for this ministry of leadership. Thank you!
