I'm dr inking from my saucer, Cause my cup has overflowed. I remember times when things went wrong, My faith wore somewhat thin. But all at once the dark clouds broke, and the sun peeped through again. So Lord, help me not to gripe, about the tough rows I have hoed. I m drinking from my saucer, Cause my cup has overflowed. If God gives me strength and courage, When the way grows steep and rough. I ll not ask for other blessings, I m already blessed enough. And may I never be too busy, to help others bear their loads. Then I ll keep drinking from my saucer, Cause my cup has overflowed. Author : u nknown
OUR GUEST SPEAKERS Amy Hill Amy was born in Lake City, Florida and has been a life-long member of the Lord s church. We at Lake Forest have been extremely lucky to have had her relocate to the Jacksonville area. She has been married to Garrett for the past four years and is currently employed at Merrill Lynch. She currently teaches the 4 and 5 year olds on Wednesday nights and has helped the young ladies of the congregation prepare for the Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes convention. Her hobbies include reading, playing board games with her husband, and general allaround craftiness. Amy s favorite female biblical character is Esther. Favorite scripture 1 TIMOTHY 6: 11-12 11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Melissa Blackman Melissa was born in Fulton, Mississippi and was raised primarily in the south. Her father was a Church of Christ preacher who moved around parts of Mississippi, Georgia, and Alabama spreading the gospel along with his wife and two daughters. Melissa was added to the Lord s church at the age of 8 and has spent her life worshipping God. Melissa met and married Gregg 30 years ago. She has two daughters, Katie and Allie, and one amazing son-in-law, Brian. Melissa has a passion for teaching as is shown by the fact that she has been a public Montessori teacher for the past 33 years. Her love of teaching also extends to the church where she has taught the 4 and 5 year olds as well as the high school girls. Her hobbies are: reading, shopping, watching old television shows and spending time with her friends and family. She especially enjoys spoiling her granddaughter, Ella. Favor ite passage of sc r iptu re 1 CORINTHIANS 13 1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Thank You! Once again, we have come to that time of year when we gather together as sisters to enjoy our Ladies Day program. I am always amazed at the support and encouragement that I receive from each and every one of you. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by such a wonderful group of ladies. There are so many involved in making today such a success and I truly wish to say Thank you with all sincerity to each and every one of you. I thank the elders for allowing us to gather for this day of inspiration and encouragement. I would most especially like to thank all of you who have said a prayer on behalf of our efforts here today. I treasure those most of all. IN CHRISTIAN LOVE, Angelique
