July 12, 2015 The Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time We will hear what God proclaims; the Lord for he proclaims peace. WELCOME TO ST. ANTHONY PARISH Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over unclean spirits. He instructed them to take nothing for the journey but a walking stick no food, no sack, no money in their belts. They were, however, to wear sandals but not a second tunic. He said to them, Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave. Whatever place does not welcome you or listen to you, leave there and shake the dust off your feet in testimony against them. So they went off and preached repentance. The Twelve drove out many demons, and they anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them. - Mark 6:1-6 217 Tremont Street Missoula MT 59801 (406) 543-3129 Email: office@stacp.org www.stacp.org www.facebook.com/ SaintAnthonyCatholicParishMissoula Office Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. WEEKEND LITURGIES SATURDAY 5:00 P.M. ST. ANTHONY PARISH 1921-2015 July 12, 2015 SUMMERTIME MUSINGS We Catholics have a rich history of seeing the ordinary and perceiving the extraordinary. Our sacraments allow us to see ordinary things like water, bread, wine and oil as doors to the sacred, which reveals the real and true presence of God. This summer why not use our sacramental imagination to see God in new places as we travel, garden, spend time in our beautiful outdoors, or even as we watch a Little League baseball game. An expression attributed to Saint Ignatius of Loyola (Feast Day, July 31) explains our goal as believers: to see God in all things. Summer is a time when we can slow down, find time for reflection, and perhaps have peace and calm within to see God in the everyday. Another suggestion for our summertime reflections is to study some of the Saints who celebrate their feast days during the summer month including Saint Kateri Tekawitha (July 14) and St. Bonaventure (July 15). What inspirational, summer paths might we find with these Saints to lead us? THANK YOU Please join us in recognizing the following St. Anthony Parish Family Promise Volunteers, Peggy Korona and Pat Cannon, who are stepping down from their responsibilities. Peggy, thank you for your work coordinating volunteers and representing St. Anthony Parish at the city-wide Family Promise meetings. Pat, thank you for your work coordinating the receptions and serving of food, as well as clean-up each night our parish hosted families. You are two of the reasons this program has been able to assist families in need. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication and for serving with a heart like Jesus. Our parish will next host Family Promise guests: July 26 August 2 Thank you to all those who have continued to support our parish involvement in Family Promise by donating food, donating time as evening hosts and overnight hosts, setting up and tearing down the rooms, doing the laundry and thru your financial donations. You have made a difference in the lives of several families. If you are able to volunteer for our next host dates of July 26 August 2, please sign-up on the dry erase board in the church vestibule. If you would like to be included on an email list for Family Promise news and updates, please contact the St. Anthony Parish Office at 543-3129. The Knights of Columbus Council 13022, Sponsor of the St. Anthony Parish Coffee and Donut Ministry, is pleased to announce the third quarter co-sponsor of this fellowship activity that follows the Sunday Masses. Hestia, In-Home Support of Missoula, Stephanie Depew, Community Outreach Director, has agreed to be our third quarter cosponsor. Hestia is a caring, versatile, and flexible in-home care provider. For more information about Hestia, visit www.hestianhomesupport.com. - Kevin Burke, KC Council 13022 Question for Sunday, July 12 Each week the bulletin poses a question for discussion or reflection with your family and friends. This week s question: What unclean spirits can I identify within the circle of my daily life and work, social circle, or neighborhood? How specifically might Jesus expect me to exercise authority over them?
