"Once again, the Miner's Meadow Rendezvous proved an exceptional opportunity to share the great beauty of our Oregon mountains, terrific food, the peaceful and respectful exchange of varying viewpoints on many issues and the great joy of close association with each other. As usual, the success of this wonderful outing is the direct result of all of you in attendance, who stepped up to contribute your time, talents, food preparation skills and other labors that made it all happen. A great big THANK YOU for your individual and combined work in the following areas: 1. Arriving early on Thursday to help set-up the common areas. 2. Helping with the take down of the common area on Sunday. 3. Cooking and serving the terrific lunch on Saturday. 4. Organizing, releasing and capturing the Ducky's for both the Saturday and Sunday races. 5. Bringing and contributing fire wood for our nightly "Entertainment by the Fire Pit". 6. The "WVM family singers and players", under the direction of Jim Perky, with guest artist Kathy Pickett. Two sold out free concerts, representing the great musical traditions of our organization, brought great delight to all who were there. 7. Our founding fathers who set forth a great land, individual liberties and a Constitution to guide future generations and protect our right to assemble, find some gold and the greatest treasure of all - joy in each other! 8. Those of you that helped some of us "Tenters" set-up and take down our temperary shelters. Personally, I want to thank Gracy Hickey for providing excellent assistance in Game/ Prize accounting and management. The only thing that could have made this year's Rendezvous better would have been more of you there with us!! We could have felt guilty for having so much fun without all of you there, but we were having too much fun!!" Howard 3
