PENTECOST SUNDAY 17 TH ANNUAL ST. THERESA FEAST Plans are underway for our 17 th Annual Summer Festival. This year it will be held from July 24 th to the 28 th. So tell your family and friends to save the dates and make plans for a fun filled celebration. Some of your fellow parishioners are working hard to make sure everything is organized just right. They have already started to make some additions and changes that will make this year s edition the best one ever. If you would like to get involved with the planning please feel free to stop by any of the feast committee meetings that will be posted in future editions of the parish bulletin. THIS YEARS THEME Each year since the inception of the feast we have had a catchphrase that is the underlying theme of that years feast. As you may recall Pope Benedict XVI had set aside this year as a special year for Catholics throughout the world to rediscover and share with others the precious gift of Faith entrusted to each of us. In recognition of this we have chosen as our theme The Year of Faith- The St. Theresa Feast Embodies Our Faith. RAFFLE As part of our feast we also hold our Grand Raffle. The grand prize will be a 2013 Mercedes Benz C300 or $30,000. The 2 nd prize will be $1,000 and the 3 rd prize will be $500. There will only be 1,000 tickets sold at a cost of $100 each. Once again we ask for your help. Proceeds from this raffle are very important to the finances of our parish. We need everyone to make an effort to buy these raffle tickets or network them among friends, relatives or co-workers. If you are unable to purchase them yourself take them to work and ask a number of your co-workers to share the cost of the ticket. Quite a few times the $30,000 grand prize has been split among friends. If your tickets stubs are in before the end of June you qualify for the early-bird drawing. The winner of the early-bird will receive $300 and 3 additional free tickets for the Grand Raffle. Each weekend parishioners will be in the back of Church to accept your raffle tickets, answer any questions, or give you any additional tickets that you may need. KNITTERS & CROCHETERS Once again we are reaching out to those that can knit or crochet. We are asking for baby blankets, sweaters, hats or booties for babies. These items will be displayed during our feast and then donated to the Premature Baby Unit at Jacobi Medical Center. These items can be dropped off at the rectory during the week or the raffle table in front of the church before or after the weekend masses. VOLUNTEERS Our Feast would not be possible without the efforts of hundreds of parishioners that volunteer & help each year. As our feast continues to grow, and as we try to initiate new features for our changing parishioner base, we are in need for more & more volunteers and the ideas that they bring with them. If you volunteered in the past we thank you for your endeavors and hope that you will be able to help us this year. If you have not helped in the past please give us a try this year. Whatever amount of time you can give will be greatly appreciated. Fellow parishioners will be outside of Church before &after all of the weekend Masses. Stop by to see how you can help. Nothing is as rewarding as being in the service of others. CORPORATE SPNOSORS There is a program associated with our feast where business can get involved and help as well. It s called our Corporate Sponsor Program. A tax deductible donation will get a business or store advertising & recognition during our feast. THERESA S FEAST COMMITTEE There will be a meeting of the Feast Committee on Tuesday May 28 th at 7:30PM in the large rectory meeting room.
