To PUTT on the green is one aspect of golf that requires thought, planning, a sharp eye, and using just the right amount of strength. PUTT can be used as an acronym to remind us of the character of our church offerings. P Can we see the PURPOSE of our church offering as helping fulfill the work, care, and love of God? Essen al are the maintenance and beau fica on of the church, distribu on of the Eucharist and teaching materials, housing for our pastor, opera on of the parish office that coordinate various ac vi es to allow the parish community to assemble, be edified, and, most importantly to spread the Gospel. U T T Is our offering UPDATED with the mes? Using the Consumer Price Index, we can see that purchasing power has gone down over me. A gallon of milk gallon in 2004 was $2.88, but now $3.60. A pound of white bread in 2004 was 95 cents, but now $1.41. Electricity per KWH in 2004 was.09 cents, but now.14 cents. When we do not regularly increase our financial offering year, we are really reducing our offering. Is our church offering THOUGHTFUL much like a gi we would give to a loved one? Nowadays, gi cards are in increments that represent a tangible value, such as a $5 cup of coffee, a $15 pair of movie ckets, or a $50 restaurant gi card. There are no $1 gi cards. Like gi -giving, do we spend careful a en on ( me & thought) into the offering we place inside our envelopes? Finally, is our church offering a reflec on of being THANKFUL? The fact that all good things come from God - family, job, annual pay increases, oxygen, all material things, and life itself should prompt us to be grateful and generous to our loving and gracious God.
A MESSAGE FROM FR. TRUC CCSV STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM 2014 Give to God what is RIGHT and not what is LEFT. Purpose Update Though ul Thankful Dear Parishioners and Visitors: Last Sunday, our church began the 2014-2015 Stewardship Program. Members of our parish finance council worked diligently throughout the summer weeks. They have been instrumental and creative with the writing and analyzing the data for the report and for you to review. P.U.T.T. (Purpose; Update; Thoughtful; Thankful), is the acronym that will help you to understand our purpose for offering. I identified three main objectives of CCSV Stewardship program. This week, we will focus on Sunday Offerings & Donations to our Church. 1. Can You PUTT a Little More This Year (2014-2015)? Sunday Offerings and Donations (Tithing): PUTT here is vitally important for all of us as a community to reflect upon God s gifts and what God has done for us in our lives. Looking at the chart on the percentages of giving by amount, I am encouraging you to evaluate your offering and PUTT to the next level of commitment. 2. The Parish Annual Financial Report for 2013-2014. This second week, I urge you to again review the annual report. For the last 7 years or since 2008, our parish has accomplished many major repairs and renovations of our church. I am grateful for your generosity and support. 3. Participation in Parish s Ministries with Time & Talents We are One Body of Christ, One Church, and One Mission! PUTT (Parishioners-Unite-Time-Talents) is essential in promoting unity and evangelization of the faith in our parish to all members who come to our church seeking for guidance and support. I am grateful to the thousands of volunteer hours that a small number of parishioners have donated to our church. I am thankful of their commitment and service to God with their time and talents. Together we are not alone; we are One because of Christ and the combined efforts and sacrifices by everyone. I pray that you will respond favorably and participate in our 2104 Stewardship Program. May our Lord bless you and your family in the new school year. Be informed in our Catholic faith, be interested in the Church and be involved in our parish s ministries.
