Keble College CollegeChapel Chapel Keble ChoralServices Services Choral TrinityTerm Term 2018 2018 Trinity
Welcome to Keble College Chapel. Keble College was founded in 1870, as a memorial to the priest and poet John Keble. The College was founded specifically to broaden access to university education, and this commitment to outreach is still strong today. Keble's original founders were part of the Oxford Movement, which sought to reinvigorate the life of the Church of England by returning to aspects of catholic faith and practice abandoned at the Reformation. This meant that worship was an important part of the founders vision for life at Keble. There are daily services in the Chapel during term, which often provide a calm oasis in the busyness of term. Our principal service on Sunday is the Eucharist at 5.30pm, and Evensong is sung every Wednesday at 6pm. The ancient service of night prayer, Compline, is sung by candlelight at 9pm on Thursdays. All are very welcome to attend services in the Chapel. The College prayer asks that Keble might be a place where love of neighbour and all sound learning may flourish. May you find this to be true here today.
