Friendship Year 2016-2017 Monthly News Bulletin JULY 2016 Circular No.: 4 E-mail : emamub@gmail.com Website : www.emamumbai.com

Speech by Incoming President SHRI JATIN JAMNADAS MODI Friends, it is an absolute honor and privilege to stand before you on this graceful occasion and to be President for an institution such as The Electric Merchants Association, an institution still young and vibrant, even at the young age of 79. I would like thank them, without whom, I can confidently say, I would not be here today. Firstly, I am here today because of my father Shri Jamnadas Modi who at 97 is the leading spirit in my life. He has also been a part of EMA, serving as President in 1981 & 1983, my family, my brothers and the support of my dear and near insulation group. Each of them has played a very significant role in my life and my presence here, in front of you, could not have happened without their backing. Today I also want to thank Shri Nitin P. Gandhi who came to my office and showed great trust and confidence in my abilities and convinced me to work for the association. I also wish to thank Shri. Himanshubhai S. Sanghavi who initiated me in his committee. I thank them for giving me this chance as I have really enjoyed these years with new found friends and newer responsibilities.ema is like a corporate family. It is also a learning curve. Here, you not only make new friends and contacts but also learn important aspects of man management and interaction with different types of people and circumstances. This is truly a great moment for me and I am truly honored. I take this as a great challenge and I accept it with pride. I promise you that I will give my best efforts to make you proud to have selected me. With the grace of God and the support of my committee and members, I will devote my time and myself to fulfill the duties of this post. EMA today has made a name for itself, not only amongst our surrounding associations, but also in the state. BRAND EMA is now acknowledged and respected in the trading community. I wish to expand this image by introducing electrically related associations as our members. We are in touch with the Constitution committee in this regard. This will surely enhance our image. I also wish to promote this image by participating in more and more trade fairs and seminars. I am glad to inform that many such organizations are approaching us for such exhibitions and fairs. I wish to bring in more seminars on subjects like taxation, health and self development. Factory visits are an integral part of our efforts to interact with the industry. Relaxation and entertainment are essentials for a healthy mind. We wish to conduct picnics and cultural events, sporting events like cricket and mini Olympiad. Our commitment to our staff and workers cannot be questioned. This year, with the efforts of Shri Vrajeshbhai N. Desai and support from Shri. Kunal S. Kadakia of Precision Plastics Industries Pvt. Ltd. we are organizing an event for the staff and workers, apart from a health check up camp for them. 2

As we are all aware that India is aggressively working in the direction of Digital India. We at EMA have already started this process by creating our own website. This year we will be developing EMA APP and payment gateway, where by members can make their payments online, avoiding sending cheque payments to EMA office. As you must be aware that EMA has started D CLICK,a defaulters list which is proving to be very useful for our trade. Today, as I stand here, I request you all to provide such names. I am sure it will help all our fellow members. I announce a special gift for all those who contribute to this list. This year is an important year for all of us as we look forward to improved prospects and an upswing in our fortunes. We also wish to celebrate this year as a Friendship Year. We wish to line up a sequence of events which will not only bind our members together but also create newer bonds of friendship and brotherhood. Friends, we all dream, but, for our dreams to come true, we have to work hard and strive for success. I am sure that with greater dedication and hard work, we can achieve our targets and be successful. In line with that, I wish to give the following slogan to our member, We Believe We Can. Before I take my oath of office, I wish to invite Shri Ashok Loya and Shri. Sudhir Kasat Of M/s R.R. Global to come up front. M/s R.R. Global has accepted to be the chief hosts of 2016.17. Now friends and respected seniors, it is my honor and proud privilege to accept my newfound responsibilities with the following words : Yes I accept to be the President of the Electric Merchants' Association for the year 2016.17.
