Mass To Celebrate The Life Of Anica Annette Orani 18 th December 1947-22 nd June 2016 Holy Family Catholic Church Friday 1 st July 2016 at 11am Burial at Eastern Cemetery Fr. Branko Jurić officiating

LIGHTING OF EASTER CANDLE In Baptism Anica was enlightened by Christ. She has walked as a child of the light and kept the flame of faith alive in her heart. May Christ, the eternal and unfading light, now welcome her into the kingdom of light and peace. The candle to be lit by: Brooke SPRINKLING WITH HOLY WATER In the waters of Baptism Anica was given a share in the life of Christ. May Christ now welcome her into the glory of eternal life. EULOGY PHOTO PRESENTATION ENTRANCE THE INTRODUCTORY RITE Please Stand In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And with your spirit. PENITENTIAL RITE My brothers and sisters, in Christ. We are gathered here today to pray for the soul of our late sister in Christ Anica Orani who died last week. I extend my deepest sympathy to her family and all the relatives and friends. We celebrate this Mass for her living soul, so let us pray to our Father to be merciful to her.

Let us now take a moment to reflect on our own sins and ask our Lord for forgiveness. You were sent to heal the contrite of heart: Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. You came to call sinners: Christ, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us: Lord have mercy. Lord, have mercy. May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life. COLLECT Let us pray. O God, almighty Father, our faith professes that your Son died and rose again; mercifully grant, that through this mystery your servant Anica, who has fallen asleep in Christ, may rejoice to rise again through him. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. LITURGY OF THE WORD Please be seated FIRST READING read by: Tammy Hewitt A Reading from the letter of Paul to the Romans. (Rom 6: 3-4, 3-9) Let us walk in newness of Life. When we were baptised in Christ Jesus we were baptised in his death; In other words, when we were baptised we went into the tomb with him and joined him in death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the Father s glory, we too might live a new life. But we believed that having died with Christ we shall return to life with him: Christ, as we know, having been raised from the dead will never die again. Death has no power over him any more. The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM read by: George, Jaxon, Swaide and Jett Rikiti Psalm 23 All repeat the response after the verses: Response: The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. Fresh and green are the pastures where he gives me repose. Near restful waters he leads me, to revive my drooping spirit. Response. He guides me along the right path; He is true to his name. If I should walk in the valley of darkness No evil would I fear. You are there with your crook and staff; with these you give me comfort. Response. You have prepared a banquet for me in the sight of my foes. My head you have anointed with oil; My cup is overflowing. Response. Only goodness and kindness shall follow me All the days of my life; And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord For years to come. Response. Please stand GOSPEL ACCLAMATION Alleluia: (John 3:16) God loved the world so much, he gave us his only Son, that all who believe in him might have eternal life. Alleluia.

GOSPEL (John 14: 1-6) The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. A reading from the holy gospel according to John. Glory to you, O Lord. Jesus said to his disciples: Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, still, and trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father s house; If there were not, I should have told you. I am going now to prepare a place for you, And after I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you with me; So that where I am you may be too. You know the way to the place where I am going. Thomas said Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way? Jesus said: I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father, except through me. If you know me, you know my Father too. The Gospel of the Lord Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Please be seated HOMILY - Fr. Branko Juric PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL read by: Raelene Abbot God, the almighty Father, raised Christ his Son from death; with confidence we ask him to save his people, living and dead. Our sister, Anica, was given the promise of eternal life in baptism; Lord, give her communion with your saints forever. Lord, hear us. Lord, hear our prayer.

We pray for our brothers and sisters, our relatives, for all who were close to us and good to us; Lord, give them the reward of their goodness. Lord, hear us. Lord, hear our prayer. We pray for all who have died in the hope of rising again; welcome them, Lord, into the light of your presence. Lord, hear us. Lord, hear our prayer. We pray for all who have gathered here to worship in faith; Lord, make us one in your kingdom. Lord, hear us. Lord, hear our prayer. Lord, hear our prayers for our dead brothers and sisters; forgive them their sins, and bring them to the fullness of your salvation. We ask this through Christ our Lord. LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST OFFERTORY PROCESSION Offerings to be presented by Oriana Hewitt and Eli Hewitt Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you: fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life. Blessed be God for ever. Priest in silece: By the mystery of this water and wine may we come to share in the divinity of Christ who humbled himself to share in our humanity. Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you: fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become our spiritual drink. Blessed be God for ever. Priest in silence: With humble spirit and contrite heart may we be accepted by you, O Lord, and may our sacrifice in your sight this day be pleasing to you, Lord God. Wash me, O Lord, from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

Prayer over the Offerings All Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God the Almighty Father. May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of His name, for our good and the good of all His holy Church. Please stand As we humbly present to you These sacrificial offerings, O Lord, For the salvation of your servant Anica, We beseech your mercy, that she, who did not doubt your Son to be a loving Saviour, may find in him a merciful Judge. who lives and reigns for ever and ever. EUCHARISTIC PRAYER II The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just. It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God, Through Christ our Lord. For as one alone he accepted death, so that we might all escape from dying; as one man he chose to die, so that in your sight we all might live forever. And so, in company with the choirs of Angels, we praise you, and with joy we proclaim: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. Please kneel

You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness. Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that they may become for us the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his Passion, he took bread and, giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU AND EAT OF IT, FOR THIS IS MY BODY, WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU. In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and, once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying: TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT, FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD, THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL COVENANT, WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND FOR MANY FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS. DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME. The mystery of faith. When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup, we proclaim your Death, O Lord, until you come again. Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his Death and Resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you. We humbly pray that, partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit. Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Francis, our Pope and Denis, our Bishop, and all the clergy. Remember your servant Anica, whom you have called From this world to yourself. Grant that she who was united with your Son In a death like his, may also be one with him in his Resurrection. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy: welcome them into the light of your face.

All Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with Blessed Joseph, her spouse, with the Blessed Apostles, and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ. Through Him, and with Him, and in Him, O God, almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honour is yours, for ever and ever. Please stand THE LORD S PRAYER At the Saviour s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say: Djeca se Bož ja žovemo, a to i jesmo žato puni použdanja molimo (Croatian): Oče naš, koji jesi na nebesima, sveti se ime Tvoje, dođi kraljevstvo Tvoje, budi volja Tvoja, kako na Nebu, tako i na zemlji. Kruh naš svagdanji daj nam danas, i otpusti nam duge naše, kako i mi otpuštamo dužnicima našim, i ne uvedi nas u napast, nego izbavi nas od zla. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles: Peace I leave you, my peace I give you, look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and graciously grant her peace and

Priest in silece: unity in accordance with your will. Who live and reign for ever and ever. The peace of the Lord be with you always. And with your spirit. Let us offer one another the sign of peace. May this mingling of the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ bring eternal life to us who receive it. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace. Priest in silece: May the receiving of your Body and Blood, Lord Jesus Christ, not bring me to judgement and condemnation, but through your loving mercy be for me protection in mind and body and healing remedy. Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world, blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. COMMUNION (Now we will have Communion. Only those who practice Catholic faith may come forward to receive Communion. Those who want to receive a blessing cross your hands on your chest and come forward.) PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION Please Stand Lord God, whose Son left us in the Sacrament of his Body, food for the journey, mercifully grant that, strengthened by it, our sister Anica may come to the eternal table of Christ. Who lives and reigns for ever and ever.

FINAL COMMENDATION AND FAREWELL With faith in Jesus Christ, we reverently bring the body of our sister to be buried in its human imperfection. Let us pray, with confidence, to God, who gives life to all things, that he will raise up this mortal body, to the perfection and company of saints. May God give her, a merciful judgement and forgive all her sins. May Christ, the Good Shepherd, lead her safely home to be at peace with God our Father. And may she be happy for ever with all the saints in the presence of the eternal King. (Coffin is now blessed with holy water and incensed) Saints of God, come to her aid! Come to meet her angels of the Lord! Receive her soul and present her to God, the Most High. May Christ who called you, take you to himself: may angels lead you to Abraham s side. Receive her soul and present her to God the Most High. Give her eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine on her for ever. Receive her soul and present her to God the Most High. Father, into your hands we commend our sister. We are confident that, with all who have died with Christ, she will be raised to life on the last day and live with Christ for ever. Lord hear our prayer: welcome our sister to paradise and help us to comfort each other with the assurance of our faith through Christ our Lord. May the angels lead you into paradise; may the martyrs come to welcome you and take you to the holy city, the new and eternal Jerusalem.

FINAL BLESSING The Lord be with you And with your spirit. May almighty God bless you, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Go in peace. Thanks be to God. Annette s family sincerely thank you for your love, support and attendance here today. Following the burial at the Geelong Eastern Cemetery (Boundary Rd Entrance), you are all warmly invited to join in refreshments at the Croatian Community Centre (Cnr. Matthews and Cox Roads, Corio)
